How do you combine lifting with running?

I already go to the gym 3x per week and climb 1x per week. How much additional cardio should I do for optimal health? My schedule is already overflowing.

    Once a week is enough. For health its much more important to walk a lot. 10k every day. You can't offset that with 1 or 2 hours of cardio per week.

        2x a week couch to 5k at a very steady pace (you shouldnt really be getting out of breathe). once you can run comfortably at that slow pace for 40 minutes increase to 3x a week and start increasing the speed slowly. dont even think about doing hard runs since you are already working out a lot and your chance of injury is quite high

    I found that running doesnt take much time. I go for a 5k and 10k each week. takes no time at all. Could even do the 5k before work if i wanted.

    I wake up at 5am each day, and fit this in before work

    M - Quick Run, about 5km
    T - Gym
    W - Gym
    Th - Rest
    F - Gym
    S - Long run, 10-15km
    S - Whatever bullshit I feel like doing, usually going kayaking

    This on top of a full time job & a couple of kids. Frick are you doing that you can't find time to pull on a pair of sneakers?

    I live in a high rise condo and run up and down the stairwell 2-3 times a week for at least 10-15 floors a set and can get about 45-50 floors. Is this good?

    side note this has done wonders to my calves
