Once a week is enough. For health its much more important to walk a lot. 10k every day. You can't offset that with 1 or 2 hours of cardio per week.

2x a week couch to 5k at a very steady pace (you shouldnt really be getting out of breathe). once you can run comfortably at that slow pace for 40 minutes increase to 3x a week and start increasing the speed slowly. dont even think about doing hard runs since you are already working out a lot and your chance of injury is quite high

I found that running doesnt take much time. I go for a 5k and 10k each week. takes no time at all. Could even do the 5k before work if i wanted.
