    I combine the exercise with practical shoplifting skill training. Basically, I sneak weights outside the gym, do my farmer walks in the parking lot, and then sneak the weights back inside the gym.

    I was only caught one time but I told the receptionist I accidentally took the weights with me to my car, but then realized they weren't mine so I brought them back inside. She nodded along like that was totally reasonable.

      Most likely she just didn't want any trouble when she knew you were gonna take them back. That's my experience anyway from working in a store, if somebody were trying to steal something and they had some dumb excuse when they were caught, most of the time it was easier just to pretend to believe it.

    There's a turf area at my gym dedicated to things like sled work and farmer's walks. Most people literally sit down in the middle of it to frick with their phone, stretch, do a single situp etc. I intentionally try to run them over with the sled. I do farmer's walks with a trap bar, so I make sure to get the edge of it as close as possible to them. Frick 'em for being in the way.

        I cannot imagine the level of moronation it takes to do a farmer's walk on a stairs. I've seen a dude do it on youtube and it is utterly insane. You have no idea when at any time you might lose your balance a bit - your knee might buckle in pain for no reason, and normally you could put the weight down here you're half way up stairs. Plenty of people have died or been horribly injured from falling down stairs when they had no weights, ie. their hands were free.

    I just do my farmer's walks at home. It's amazing to me how people go through thousands of dollars on gym memberships yet apparently can't afford a few sets of dumbbells. Why create an unnecessary tension and awkwardness when you can avoid it.

    There is a large dedicated area in my gym for doing this and similar exercises... nobody bats an eye.. try going to an actual gym
    And before you ask I pay 17 a month.

    Anon, I tremble at the thought of talking to women and let people walk all over me but absolutely no one in my gym would ever think of standing in my way if I'm doing my walkies. Just do it.

    One of my favorites but I didn't hit them this week. The planet fitness I work out at has machines lined up so that you can walk from one end of the gym to the other. Pretty good distance, and feels good w 45 plates due to the grip of the rubber plates compared to the metal dumbbell grips.

    A regular gym is not a place to work out. It's a place to mostly sit on a bench and stare at your phone for an hour, occasionally lay back and do a set.
    Doing farmers carry would be ACTUALLY working out, that's not allowed.
