Reading lyle mcdonald's shit on fat loss and diet. Honestly it's made the biggest difference to me even when it comes to short term keto. 50 carbs to avoid more muscle loss instead of the normally recommended 20-30. Then scaling additional carbs based on sets*5/2 and rough estimations of cardio. Basically almost all dietary advice is for sedentary women in their 20s-30s and not really as applicable to people men who train.

but if you cut first youll see progress immediately and be encouraged to continue. you can also do a lot of light lifting and calis to build some strength and endurence so you can hit the ground running when its time to bulk.

- 3 x cardio sessions
