motivation is less about memes like and more about clearing your mind

don't think about resting, don't think about relaxing, don't think about vidya, don't think about the couch, these things should not be part of your world, this will leave you thinking about your workout

it is like when you get up in the morning and you know you have to get ready for work, you can't afford any bullshit thoughts, you have to get up, shower, shit, shave and so on, or you will be late or have to rush at the last minute, all the bullshit goes out the window, the same here

some hippies and homosexuals call it "mindfulness", but it works

The reason rappers say "uh, uh" in the beginning of their songs is cuz it's the simplest affirmation. Women want to be loose, they really do, but they feel bad about it. Tell them, "be loose", then when they do, tell them "uh", the simple affirmative. "Good girl"

Motivation is fake. How do you find motivation to work in the AM everyday? You don’t.

Sometimes you recognize there is work to be done and no one else is going to do it, has to be you. Sometimes we have to do things we don’t want to, and that’s OK.

Lift the weights. Have some discipline.

    >find the motivation
You just need a good reason to justify it. This can be anything from wanting gains to "I'll be glad I did it after it's done."
You'll have to think it through a bit, bur you shouldn't have to think too deeply.
If the idea of going is getting some internal pushback, then did you even want it that bad?

If you don't have motivation you just don't want it. It's okay to not want it, most people don't want it. You just kinda want it. You think it would be kinda cool to just train and look like a roider. But honestly if you are not a bodybuilder this whole logic is backwards already. Working out should just be the default, it should be part of your routine, something you do on the side. You don't need motivation to brush your teeth or put clothes on, you just do it and it is what it is. You should put training on the back pedal and focus on other more meaningful aspects of your life. Training is just something there that keeps you disciplined.

Nobody has ever in the history of the world said that "how do i find motivation to play golf?". like you dont need motivation for it, either you do it or dont

The promise of going to the gym is the only thing that gets me through my work

  13. 8 months ago

Going to the gym is the highlight of my day. Every single day, 365 times a year, I walk in through the front door, scan my card, walk to the threshold which separates the front desk lobby from the gym, drop my bag, cross my arms, puff out my chest and scan the entire gym for the scrawniest, newest looking homosexual I can find. Sometimes I'll stand there for a good 30 seconds figuring out who I want to mog that day. As soon as I find him, I flick the bill of my hat, turn it backwards, turn towards the glass and make sure my smirk is on point then walk with some swag in my step in a beeline towards that little homosexual. I always stop about 15 feet away, look at him for about 3 seconds, and let out a "pft ok" then go do the exact same exercise except with double or triple the weight and SLAM the weights down then let out a long yaaawnn and smirk at him. They rarely make eye contact but always know what's up and if they do make eye contact I just say "sup" and the moment they open their mouth to respond I just let out another long and loud yawn and go back to ripping double or triple the weight they were doing and SLAM it down again, pick up my gym bag and if everything works out, walk right past them and force out a nice fart and say "excuse you? pfft"

I'm 6' 210lbs, they never do anything. Then I'll go back to that threshold in the lobby, flip my hat back forwards and flick the bill and face the gym so everyone sees me. The regulars all know what's up. I put on a show and always see the girls on the ellipticals up front smirking at me, miring.

I once heard a novelist say that one of the biggest myths among budding writers is that they need to wait for the muse. In practice, you can write just as well without much inspiration as you can with inspiration.

I apply the same philosophy to most things in life. I'm joyless and depressed, but I almost have a 4pl8 bench, so on balance it works out, sort of.

though I agree that people should lift regardless of how they feel, you do realize that an artistic pursuit means you need creative thoughts and ideas while lifting is the same determined routine every time you lift?

I honestly don't know. I'm a total slacker in everything in life but when it comes to to working out i just go and do it. I think it's because i know i'll feel like shit for not going. Both because of the guilt, and the fact that i feel like crap when i don't exercise

  24. 8 months ago

It's simply really. If it has been four to seven days and I haven't worked out according to my heavy duty program and I feel like I can't work out, I just simply take another rest day. However, if it's been two weeks and I can't get myself into the gym for a high intensity workout, then I take a hit of meth.

I used to make my osrs character strong as frick by doing mindless grinding that only required me to be there. Same thing applies irl. Just be at the gym and grind out what you need to do to level your strength.

Working out is the only time of day I'm not stuck in my head overthinking shit. It's virtually impossible for me to walk out of the gym and not feel euphoric, no matter how the day has gone so far. That feeling can get addictive very quickly.
