        Bulgarian Split Squats. Front leg as far out as it can go for glutes/hamstrings, closer in for quad focus (though this variation tends to hurt my knees so I stay away from it.

          Front knee going as far as it can eith straight torseo is for quads.
          Front knee in the same position with torso leaning forward is for glutes.
          You don't even have to remember it. It's just a logical conclusion of how stretched the muscles are.

    Front squats shouldn't give you back problems, usually are considered kinda healing even.
    They hit the quads and glutes well, if your upper back can hold the weight (if you can't, get bigger shoulders.), but miss the hamstrings.
    You can do nordic curls for the hams, and then your legs are completely fried.

    You could start with something like horse stance if your glutes aren't particularly strong, it's easier to keep a straight back with that and you can modify how deep you squat/bend.
    Without extensive gym equipment you're otherwise limited to things like lunges and hamstring curls however, and I somehow doubt you're going to be going to the gym multiple times a week just to work on your legs, especially if you've already got a fricked up back.
    No one ever wants to hear this but if you've fricked yourself up you should be doing rehab, working on your core/posture and improving your back, not asking how to find all new ways to injure yourself.

    Squatting and deadlifting are the best thing you can do for back health. Trying to get the most out of an NLP and then grind new maximal weight every week for years afterward though is horrible for you because tissues heal at different rates.

    However the answer you're looking for is Bulgarian split squats and lunge variations.

    Your form doesn't need to be even close to perfect on either of these lifts for you to avoid injury, and getting to an acceptable level takes a miniscule amount of effort.
    Most injuries in the gym, whether they are from lifting or cardio occur as a result of poor overall fatigue management. In other words avoiding specific exercises will not help you avoid injuries, but the fact that you are avoiding these probably means you're too much of a pussy to train hard enough that you will risk injury in the first place, so you may as well just add them to your routine.
