Been training for two years straight, primarily because of the ongoing strangeness in the world… I don’t think I’ll get drafted, and I don’t know if I’d serve even if I were to get called up. That said, stranger things could happen. There could be a land invasion here, or you might want to flee somewhere else. To that end, you either train like you’re supposed to, or you risk getting caught on your ass.
For the first year, and most of the second, I only lifted weights and bulked. I just started doing cardio, and was pleasantly surprised to learn over a few sessions that the “lifting is cardio” meme was actually true all along. I am effortlessly able to run miles at a time, having never done cardio in my life up until now. I’ll probably increase the distances ran over time, start rucking, etc… Other than that, I recommend weapons training over lifting.
