I don't do things that is just repetetive shit for a long time. I'd rather go cycling then do exercises with my legs. While riding, i occasionally stop and exercise at places like pic rel.
This way i don't do the same thing for a long time. And a change of scenery helps.
Plus its all free. (apart from the bicycle)

stop being a fatty/dyel and actually make progress. i’ve never met a single person who doesnt fall in love with fitness after actually making progress. on the contrary, every person i’ve met that doesnt enjoy working out is the typical face stuffing fatty or 80lb anorexic chudcel
    >”waaah fitness is hard”
idk how moronic someone has to be to believe that lifting and rooning is easy when youve never even walked more than a mile in your life or lifted anything heavier than a 24 pack of mountain dew cans

Do Calisthenics and practice tricks. Watching yourself progress and pull things off makes you really enjoy the process. And you basically farm mires once you get good

You're asking the wrong question, a bit like a fatty who asks "how can I restrict calories while still eating the same variety and quantity of yummy treats that I'm accustomed to, tee hee"

The bitter pill is that exercise will often make you feel uncomfortable, sore, sweaty and out of breath. If you can find ways to enjoy it despite of that (and as time goes on, BECAUSE of that) - great. But you're not going to find excitement, enjoyment and entertainment from every workout. That doesn't mean you're doing it wrong, or excuse you from doing it. If you're serious, you'll do it anyway, just the same as you'll get out of bed even on days you don't feel completely rested, and you'll suck down that shitty tasting protein shake even if you're not hungry. Discipline comes first, always.

For what it's worth though I listen to music or podcasts, or just take the opportunity to be alone with my thoughts. Sometimes if I'm in no hurry I bring a book with me (home gym) or shitpost here between sets. I find the process itself cathartic and I benefit from the effort I put in, so I don't need to be entertained or anaesthetised every last minute of the session.

At first it won't be, but after awhile you get to enjoy it and look forward to your workouts. Just look after your general health mainly and you should come to like it.

    Don't come to these forums.

I once found fun lifting in a country gym where 2-3 people was a crowd. I don't know if I will ever be able to bang and clang weights around like that ever again.

This is bad advice, but I simply prioritize the lifts I like and don't do lifts I don't like. I try to OHP at least 2-3 times a week since it's my favorite lift. On the other hand, I squat maybe once every other week since I despise squats. If I were to force myself to do the lifts I hate on a regular basis I'd probably have quit lifting by now.

Why does reddit love squats so much? Seriously asking. Obviously squatting is important but reddit has practically turned it into a cult. Every fitness board on that site feels like a bunch of dudes who read starting strength in 2012 and never developed past that.

I don't get it either. All I want to do is ohp and chest press

            Anonymous

It's because people used to not do squats or powerlift wherein squats are a staple exercise. There used to be a general/popular sentiment that leg day/squats were dreaded, and so naturally an opposite attitude came about to oppose this view that became predominant. People that say they enjoy leg day/squats or are overenthusiastic about them are essentially trying to convey that they are strong or tough in some sense. Sort of like this homosexual

            cringe homosexual post

Naturally, redditors, eager to be validated, join the club to subconsciously reinforce their ego. Squats are good, but anyone who's overenthusiastic about them, or call others weak for not sharing in their enthusiasm, are really just trying to say they're strong and valuable.

BJJ and then I branched out into muay thai, MMA, and judo.

    >Oh, when someone comes up to you in the streets and-

I don't give a frick. The belt system was/is like ninja ranks in Naruto (I'm 30 years old). I started to like the theory of fighting as a whole. Open stance vs closed stance and stance switching. Izzy beat Alex with superior striking but lost to Sean who only knew 1-2 and a hook. Stances for wrestling vs muay thai vs judo vs MMA vs BJJ. What are your long range vs mid range vs close range weapons? Takedowns in open space vs wall work. When does judo work vs wrestling? Leg lock systems vs traditional control ladder on the ground. ADCC style techniques vs old school techniques vs whatever Keenan Cornelius is up to.

And that's even before the interweaving lore of how these systems came to be.

Realize pain only exists to make you save yourself from dying
Most of the pain you are actually feeling is anticipation of pain
If you are not going to die you don't have to fear pain
In fact, there is no reason to feel it
    So stop feeling pain

Start playing a sport that can actually keep you fit (not shit like golf where physicality isnt as important). I’ve been wrestling since high school and lifting only to help make me a better wrestler. I honestly hate lifting but its worth it because of how much i enjoy wrestling/combat sports.
