I travel a lot for work, and when I am on the road the company pays for me to eat out. As I am living in hotel rooms this pretty much the only option too. Does anyone have any tips on how to eat healthy when you're at a resataurant?
Calories aren't a problem for me as I am 6'3", lean, with 200 pounds of healthy weight. One of my biggest problems is actually that the "healthy options" aren't nearly filling enough for me. I am more concerned with limiting trans fats, refined carbs, excessive salt(after eating out) as well as sugar and artificial sweeteners and deep-fried shit(see picrel) .At home I eat stir fries(no pasta, just meat and veg), curried rotis(again, minimal carbs, 90 percent meat and veg), roast and barbeques, chicken wraps etc.

Just to be clear, I am not Keto, but I thought the "don't eat" section was pretty accurate. I happily eat carbs, just not refined stuff like rice, bread and pasta.
>refined stuff like rice, bread and pasta
that's the good carbs though
Good carbs? As in better than the carbs you get from sweet potato, potato, butternut, carrots etc? I don't think so. Bread, pasta and rice will spike your insulin levels, which not only can lead to insulin insensitivity if chronically consumed but will also make you incredibly lazy and sleepy after eating.
Also, remember that when you consume high GI vegetables you are also consuming vitamins, minerals and fiber.

They also make you fat. All those calories and they don't satiate you.
You require a calorie surplus to build muscle
>But I NEEED calories!!!
You know you can get calories from literally everything right?
>missing the point entirely
carbs don't make you fat
You are correct. Food that are high calories that aren't satiating and you fat.
What
This explains it;
Bear in mind that this based one study but I don't feel like typing an essay, so I just searched "bread vs potatoes" on Youtube and found a video talking about it.
Kek. I just re-read that, apologies. It was meant to say, "Food that are high calories and aren't satiating make you fat."
Get the steak. Eat it. That's it. If you need more calories, do eggs and white rice.
>grilled or shallow fried meat
Unironically what my plan is, with the exception that I have recently been advised to order vegetable side dishes. Essentially a "build your own meal".
If you're in America you're fricked. Vegans used to bring their own food to cope with lack of options, maybe you can do that?
Not American, but most of the world has been Americanised. As I said to another anon, my plan is to order grilled or roasted chicken with sides of vegetables.
