this question makes no sense posed as it is

it depends how much you weigh
the answer is obviously different whether you weight 400lbs or 130.

      I weigh 155lbs

you should generally not lose faster than 1% of your bodyweight per week.

the further above 1% you go the more you are risking losing muscle mass, which is very undesirable and leads to the dreaded "skinnyfat" appearance, you aren't going to look good. also it's not going to be a pleasant dieting experience either.

it's better to just do 1% a week. don't go too hard because when you get closer to your goal weight the process will get harder, and that's when you will have to put more effort in.

there's a fat loss general for you to ask these questions in

1.5lbs a week is what you're saying I should be limited to? That's way too slow though

            >1.5lbs a week is what you're saying I should be limited to?
            1.5 lbs is 1% of 155lbs yes.
that's not what *im* saying you should be limited to. you can do whatever you want. if you go faster than that your physique is going to suffer and you're not going to look as good.
by going too fast to save a few weeks of cutting you're going to lose muscle that is going to take you months to put back on. you're just putting yourself in a worse position.

Wouldn't I gain that muscle back if I switch back to maintenance calories via eggwhites. That would basically double/triple my protein intake and make me shredded

                Anonymous

Considering I eat 1000 calories a day now

My maintenance is 1850 calculated but I'll probably start off with an extra 500 cal just to be safe and not over bulk

                500/18 = 27
                27x4 = 112
That's 112g of protein I'll be adding back to my diet once I hit my goal weight of 135lbs

Which is actually quite a lot compared to what I'm eating now. Almost double my protein intake now.

Just eat extra protein and you'll save most of your muscle mass while cutting. Don't listen to moron conservative 1% gay. Make sure you're workout out properly and as you shed the weight you'll look toned as frick.

Eating more protein doesn't help because your body will just burn that for energy as well.

I went from 75kg to 68kg in 2 weeks but I just enjoy cutting and fasting, it's definitely possible though, and I barely lost any muscle.

Really? How many calories were you eating a day?

I didn't count calories, I just tried eating less. I had to force feed myself to bulk up so just relaxing on my diet was enough to lose weight (I just forget to eat often). I also drank zero calorie coke most of the day because it's enough to not have cravings for junk food and stuff

I wish I could forget to eat. Hard when you're not in a solo house. Before I could game all day and forget to eat

Yeah, video games can really be a cheat code for this. I end up being so busy playing that I don't even register hunger

Lmao when I play video games I have tons of snacks, pizza, junk, and all kinds of sugary drinks. I can't game without eating a shitton

Also, I walk a lot, that burn calories and help make the deficit bigger while still getting enough nutrients to not feel like shit too much

i dropped from 90kg (23%ish bodyfat) to 75kg (13%ish bf) in 2 months, now im trying to bulk eating like 3000+ calories a day and i still cant seem to break above 76kg lmfao

idk why people have trouble with losing weight, it seems gaining weight is the bigger menace

Gaining weight is easy if you're dirty bulking. I can gain weight via peanut butter and bread and weigh 300lbs by next week

Just eat extra protein and you'll save most of your muscle mass while cutting. Don't listen to moron conservative 1% gay. Make sure you're workout out properly and as you shed the weight you'll look toned as frick.

Yeah I already eat a pretty high protein diet for what I'm eating. I already look much more toned and defined than before so I think it's working alright

    >How many lbs or kg can you realistically lose a week assuming you don't care about muscle loss
I've been losing 1kg a week while still gaining muscle.

You could easily lose 2kg+ a week if you didn't care about muscle gains. Just eat barely anything and do cardio. I've done it before at the end of highschool.

That said, be prepared to look like a ghoul.

As long as I have abs at the end, which I should can already see a 4pack

He said he didn't care about losing muscle. Read the fricking post next time.

Yeah I'm ok with losing as much muscle as necessary. I'm trying to hit 135lbs and then I'll recomp my body with stupidly high protein. Think of it as a skill point reset.

I'm trying to be light weight for advanced Calisthenics at 155lbs, I feel like I'm on the upper edge of strength/weight. And that point is only sustainable as a roider. I can easily bring that down to 135 and make the lifts much easier bodyweight wise

Average unathletic male needs around 2500cal daily. 1 kilo of fat contains 8000 calories. So, if you just stop eating for 3 days, you will lose ~1kg of pure fat

that can't be right, I'm eating (at a significant deficit) and that calculation gives me 3.8 lb
I'm losing 1.9 lb every four days
