The only thing that matters when it comes to lifting is looking good naked

How many years did you frick around in the gym focusing on "muh strength" and "muh functional training" before you realized it was all a meme, and the only thing that matters when it comes to lifting is looking good naked?

I wasted a couple of years, but it wasn't because I was convinced what I was doing was better, I just didn't have a clue

I agree. 1/2/3/4 for reps is all you need for strength, anymore is just pointless unless your job requires you to be stupid strong like a bouncer or maybe a firefighter.

I knew the goal of working out was looking good naked to begin with. Didn't bother with any mental acrobatics regarding strength.

I don't care how I look because I will always frick myself. I care about performance and being able to do shit without help.

Honestly, being able to stretch my hamstring fully was what I really needed.

You need strength to look good though

What kind of aesthetic chest you think you're gonna build when your 1 rep max bench is fricking 1.5pl8? You think your arms will look good when you're still curling the fricking 20lbs dumbbells?

Strength results in aesthetics as long as you're not a perma bulker. If you can't bench 2pl8 you look like shit, face it

This. I never understood how strength and looking good are supposed to be different things in the first place. Fats can be strong (see powershitters) but if you look shredded as frick you are obviously strong beyond "functional strength" aka moving boxes around or opening jars

You do not need strength to look good. A very minimal amount of muscle + being lean is all you need to look good. More muscle can be better, but if more muscle comes with losing your leannness, then it's not worth it

Do you think women want men to have big man breasts?

          >puts on clothes
          >just looks scrawny and sick

          >looks good naked
What part of that did you not understand. Also pic related could wear a size XS. nobody cares what size shirt you're wearing as long as it looks good on you

            >yeah man no one cares how small and weak you are it’s perfectly normal for a guy to wear XS clothes like a girl

If you look good. Nobody cares. You can go buy your 2XL shirts. You'll get mogge by a size S with abs every single time

There is 0% chance this guy lifts

His is thin and his waist is proportionally massive compared to his upper body, in no world does any lean lifter have such proportions. The guy in this image does not lift weights and has never lifted weights. He's just a generic skinny guy whose got decent genetics when compared to other generic skinny guys.

That's the point. Just be lean. That's all that matters.

        >strengthfats are using a lean NON-LIFTER as an example of why being lean is bad

kek, if you have ever lifted, you'd know that guy doesn't lift, nobody lifts and has such a "soft" minimal body like that, nobody besides ultra-thin guys who have base level muscle mass

          Anonymous

No I'm saying being lean is all that matters. The dyel I posted looks good even though, like you said, he doesn't work out

That's the power of being lean. Strength is irrelevant when a dyel can look good just by having low bodyfat

This mindset of looking good naked is why your average roid taking zoomer will never make progress in the gym

I fricked around trying to work out as a bodybuilder for 5 years until I realised you need to lift heavy.

You guys are so fricking moronic

When I say strength training, I dont mean you go full moron and just never increase the weight ever again

Bodybuilding still requires increasing the weight

The point is you dont increase weight CONSTANTLY ALL THE FRICKING TIME AT THE COST OF FORM, TECHNIQUE, ROM, ETC

The point is you get stronger as a "lifter" but not in the hyperfocused disregard everything else manner that strengthcels go about it (like getting morbidly obese, not training specific muscle groups, doing minimalist training only on competition lifts)

    Frick you c**ts are DUMB

      >not training specific muscle groups, doing minimalist training only on competition lifts
Nobody actually does this apart from a tiny subset of people. I'd go as far as to say if you aren't doing isolations, pullups, hypertrophy blocks etc as a strength athlete you're an idiot for two main reasons.
      >strong muscles in isolation are more inury resistant. If you frick up lifting an odd object (sandbag, stone) then you're far less likely to snap a bicep if they're strong in isolation
      >if you want to be strong then you should be strong at everything, how are you the big boy serious lifter at your gym if the c**t taking shirtless mirror selfies can tricep pushdown the full stack and you can't?

My goal was always to look good naked but all information I was finding both irl and online was strength crap. Legitimately I never even learned about the word “hypertrophy” until 2 years ago.

I love how strength homosexuals online assume if you aren't directly focusing entirely on strength than it means you can only bench 1 plate

You homosexuals realize nobody did this strength training shit in the 1990s and 2000s and still got 3 plate bench presses for reps only benching 1 day a week on a chest day

You homosexuals are so ignorant and moronic its hilarious, the guy whose been bodybuilding for 10-20 years brutally mogs any strengthcel fat tub of shit who has no muscle and relies entirely on being fat to move weight

Strength by itself is based, but everything that starts with "functional" is just bullshit made up so fitness influencers can have more courses to sell.

Strengthcels sell powershitting as functional... they sell Squat/Bench/Dead as functional....

Meanwhile these guys would all get mogged by some non-lifting DYEL who works for a house moving company

Idk. I immediately started good because i started lifting because of arnie and zyzz and felt amazing.
I actually got natty shredded solely because i had enthusiasm to lift 6xweek and eat and sleep like a machine. I never had seen anything bring results as promised in my life

Later indeed fricked around but stayed moderately fit
Then went to strength, which was cool but i bulked a ton (220lbs, fit but no abs can be seen)

Now i am aiming to do mma, since ive been ovsessed with all sorts of combat and competitive spoorts and have a natural knack at fighting, so at age 35 i now moatly do high volume training and stamina training.
Frankly i agree - unless you are specific athlete, use gym for what it is meant to do - build muscle to look good.

You will be way above normies in strength and fitness, and if you decide to change something later it is easier to just finetune your bodybuilding training.

Kek, i think i can summarize all my fitness effort as - I wanted to look like Zyzz and already felt pretty strong, so i just tried working out hard, whatever it meant. I.ho one thing I never did was very slow reps. Slowness of the body is somehow counter intuitive for me
