Creatine causes exponential norwood progression
5g means you go up 1 level per year, 10g is 1 level per 6 months, 20g is 1 level per 3 months.
The problem is while Norwood gains are exponential, muscle gains are diminishing, so 3-5g is the sweetspot for muscle growth vs. hair loss

20 grams per day spaced out the first week. Then drop down to 5g as a maintenance. Every 2 months do a loading cycle as stated above to reup levels. Drink LOTS of water, especially during loading phase. Take it after workouts, no need or use before.

Skeletal muscles have a limit of absorbable creatine and everything remaining will be eliminated through the kidneys.
If you still have creatine in your gut/bloodstream during a workout it can still replace any used during the workout.
At 5g/day you build up to max saturation and it's processed out slower than you are putting it in. You always stay at max saturation so timing is irrelevant.
Rushing to max saturation by front loading 10g/day for a few days could be done but it's honestly whatever. Just take 5g/day and you are good

Honestly, I just take 1 gram of HCL creatine 4-5 times a week and the only side effect was 5 lbs of water weight gain the first week I use it. Though I do like to do 2 months on, 1 month off. Not for health effects, I just forget to buy more.
