I gave up on OHP, do handstand pushups now (wall-assisted)

      Anonymous

How's that working out so far?

        Anonymous

pretty good, learning the skill fast. Went from like 1.5 reps to 5 reps in 1 week. Eventually want to get strong enough to do deficit ones

Nice. I was thinking about including them as an OHP accessory myself. Something fun and a cool skill to master if I can work towards them freestanding

does it make sense to do them weighted? (handstand pushups)

yeah, if they are too easy for you without weight

2.5 to 3.5 minutes rest between sets; usually 2 leading sets with 5 or 6 working and maybe 1 cooldown.
One shoulder/tris sesh would probably be:
        ohp 8 sets
        tricep/delt accessory superset 6 sets
Secondary front delt exercise 5-6 sets (could be dumbbell shoulder press, arnold press, seated ohp, seated smith ohp, possibly incline bench, etc)
tricep/delt accessory super set (or drop sets) 5-6 sets
Finish off with leg raises, cable crunches, stretching, foam rolling, maybe cardio. Depends on how long it took to get through the other shit and how much time I waste talking to gym people.

I can do reps at 185lbs but every other session recently I’ve been tweaking my neck badly and getting neck pain afterwards, so I’m not longer doing OHP for the time being.

  20. 11 months ago

MAx I've ever done is 135 for a single, but I was fat, and didn't like being fat. I am not fat anymore, but can only OHP 105. I'm totally fine with that. I hate fat people so very much now that I am not fat.
