He literally says he was 180. In reference he bulked to 220 before batman begins and had to cut 20 pounds during filming which is why his physique changes throughout the movie.
How much does Christian Bale weigh in American Psycho?
180 sounds about right. It’s surprising how much less you weigh than you think you should when you truly get lean.
They're angle, lightfrauding and water cutting for the scenes.
There is a pic of him on set in unflattering light, he looks like the average /cbt/ poster
But also this. I was surprised seeing the pictures now compares to when I saw the movie. His abs are on point but in a lot of ways his physique isn’t that impressive, especially the legs. However, he was playing a yuppie and having Tom platz quads doesnt really fit the image especially for back then
Do you know what funniest thing about this movie is? The whole plotline is about showing the audience that the main character lives such an empty, vain, hellish and undesirable lifestyle that he becomes severely dissociative and flat out turns into a psychopathic murderer, and the first thing IST autists do is ask for routine.
Doesn’t have to be either. We’re so limited on what we can say now that it’s an outlet to say things that would get you cancelled in daily life. People like this

Just love projecting or the feeling of superiority they get from imagining people are worse than them.
He's the only psycho around so it sure as frick wasn't his vain yuppie lifestyle that turned him into a batshit axe murderer. He doesn't particularly excel in his environment either. His peers are as groomed and on point as him but without the autismo or homicidal tendencies .
Do you think his peers were likely also psychopathic, just less autistic/murdery? It's definitely a meme that high level finance guys are psychos but that's probably cope from poors
You just have to be high test and aggressive/competitive/manipulative to make it in that kind of environment. Nice, soft types tend to get filtered out. It is what it is. Also you have to care a lot about money or you wouldn’t subject yourself to that kind of work environment
>le reddit take >hurr guys did u kno this movie was made by a gay guy and a bi women amd satirizes capitalism >can’t believe these incels look up to the main character durrf >obviously they didn’t get the point of the movie like a high horse riding social justice warrior like me

Hes right, every fricking normie youtuber has been going "durrrr people are drawing the wrong conclusions, hes le bad guy" for the past year or so. You said nothing insightful.

It was a fairly common interpretation when the book was first released. Shockingly, a narcissistic serial killer wasn't really meant to be sympathetic.
You can interpret Patrick Bateman as actually a typical IST poster. He doesn’t have the actual balls to kill anybody, except maybe the homeless and hookers now and then, but certainly no one as high profile as Paul Allen. In fact throughout the movie we see that he’s completely clumsy and inept in his social settings (maybe due to his sociopathy/severe autism): he can only bring his friends to a chick’s restaurant, he can’t ever get a reservation to Dorsia, he is referred to constantly as a dork, he even has the worst business card ffs. That’s why no one takes him seriously at the end when he admits to all his “murders” bc irl he’s a spineless loser who tries desperately to fit in with peers who simply exist effortlessly. Hell, Bateman probably the type of guy to not touch his dick so he can increase his test or some ridiculous nonsense like that. He can only fantasize about his more severe murders like the pathetic cuck he actually is, while his gf gets plowed by chad Bryce. All he can do in his ineptitude is frick another man’s wife, who is hopped on on so much Xanax she doesn’t even recognize her husband is gay. Absolutely pathetic.
I prefer the interpretation that they're all so cookie cutter that no one recognizes that Paul Allen is dead. Fit the theme of them being extremely vapid better
>My understanding is that he just fantasizes about it but doesn't actually kill anyone.
the movie dun goofed, in the book its actually up to a reader to decide which murders were real, and which were imagined. But some of those were definitely real. In the movie, its not presented properly, and for all we know ALL of the murders could have happened in his imagination. Since book =/= movie, you have a legit opinion
He’s psychotic and an unreliable narrator that gradually loses his grip on reality but he did kill all those people
The movie made it vague, but it’s been stated by the author and director that he killed people. People saying they saw people who had been killed, or the bodies he stashed in Paul Owens apartment are meant to enforce the loss of individual identity (everyone looks like everyone else) and also the priority of money above human life/ethics (the landlady cleaning the bodies to maintain good property value of the apartment.
y’know, I have a shit lifestyle.
I just got out of the office and it’s almost 11PM. I cheated on my girlfriend twice times last week.
Apart from my work and the gym I don’t really have a life. I could though, I’m pretty well off.
I’m not a psycho. It’s not the lifestyle that makes you become one, rather psychos are attracted to that lifestyle because it suits their homicidal tendencies
This is not the message of the movie, don't get me wrong, Patrick Bateman is a despicable human being, but I think you misunderstood it, besides, he's just asking the weight of the actor.
They're angle, lightfrauding and water cutting for the scenes.

I remember seeing a picture montage of his various roles, with his bodyweight listed.
I think it said 82kg for American Psycho. Seems about right, as did his other weights too
180
>6' tall
No chance he was 180. He was 165.
I'm 6'0 160 and I'm a total skelly
You're not as lean or dry I'd bet. He's got a pump for the camera too.
You're skinny fat and holding a ton of water. He was definitely around 165-170 there
I'm not skinny fat at all, I have visible abs, biceps, pecs etc
You are horrible at estimating weights. He weighs a minimum of 180.
He literally says he was 180. In reference he bulked to 220 before batman begins and had to cut 20 pounds during filming which is why his physique changes throughout the movie.

Everyone here already has an empty, hellish, undesirable lifestyle
Having that + looking hot and being rich is a huge improvement
true. never thought of it like that but it kinda makes sense when you put it that way.
Or did. I'm an old/gay/ that got life together but still on IST because frick because I can't afford social media backlash in my life of work.

you are literally moronic. you should seriously reconsider making IST part of your personality before its too late.
kek you really type like a lispy Black person homosexual
You're so cool using all those tough no-no words to compensate for your lack of argument!
stop responding, you're giving them the attention they so desperately crave

Yes he had psychotic allucinations

Why do you guys project so hard?
well you certainly COULD interpret it like that, but unless you're a cuck beta with a chip on his shoulder... why would you?

Anon I hate to break this to you but it’s fiction. As in not real. Christian bale is the person who had that physique not some psychopathic killer
This is not the message of the movie, don't get me wrong, Patrick Bateman is a despicable human being, but I think you misunderstood it, besides, he's just asking the weight of the actor.
155 lbs max
No more than 145 lbs
135 lbs soaking wet
Not a pound over 125
About tree fiddy
Really though, how do I get abs like that.
170-180 lbs (77-80 kg for the unwashed)
About 30lbs more than he did in Equilibrium
They're angle, lightfrauding and water cutting for the scenes.

I'm pleased to say I'm pretty close to Bateman mode, just need 10 pounds of muscle
Like 155
