Yes. The only differnce between bulky bodies and pretty ones is usually years of training. The first year for body builder, an "otter mode", and a power lifter will be essentially the same in diet and routine and only start to diverge significantly after year 2. Stick with what works for the most amount of people and you'll be most likely to succeed. Too many people fall for memes or get side tracked into specialized training too early and wind up not getting what they want out of it. Also don't get memed into calisthenics unless you're still a teenager. You'll never see a active male gymnast over 26, over 6 feet or didn't start training in childhood for a reason it requires the most cumulative time investment to even be passable.

No. I fell for the keto meme. Was 5'9 and got up to 207lbs. I successfully lost 25lbs. But, I only look marginally better, and quite frankly, I think I look nearly as flabby as I did before. I probably lost 10lbs of water and 10lbs of muscle, and 5lbs of fat.. Keto might still be fine (personally, I think it's better to just do "lower-carb", ie not eating junk and sweets), but YOU HAVE TO LIFT.

Do your normal gym routine, doesn’t matter could be bro split, PPL, whatever. But 5x a week do a 15 minute jump roping session along with it (I do mine after my lifts). Your heart rate will go up quickly and it will stay up for the duration of the 15 minutes. And the jumping is really good for shrinking fat cell. Better than running or biking. It’s essentially a 15 minute full body HIIT workout. The jumping and the spinning of the weighted handles works out pretty much your whole body. Whenever people say “I wanna lose weight but I wanna get toned”, this is probably the one piece of equipment that will actually accomplish that goal if done consistently and progressively.
The first few weeks just go slow and get used to the rhythm. Try some different variations like boxer skip, bouncing forwards and back, side to side, single leg hops, clockwise/counter clockwise hops, double under jumps. You can get creative, there’s really no wrong way to do it. When you break rhythm, just reset and get back to it. You’ll get better and better the more you do it.
You don’t have to take my word for it. Go look up the benefits of weighted jump ropes. Go on YouTube and search jump rope physique transformations. People go from fat DYELS to looking like David Goggins after a few months of consistent progress. And there’s tons of other benefits I haven’t even mentioned, better stamina, footwork, mind-muscle connection, all things that will benefit lifters or anyone who does sports.
