How to get out of diet hell

What diet are people on for physical and mental health. I have looked at so much that I have confused myself to a point of exhaustion

- Standard American Diet
- keto
- paleo
- carnivore
- raw primal
- vegan
- vegetarian
- ray peat (bioenergetic diet)
- Weston A. Price

Literally just eat less to start. Figure out what part of your diet the majority of your calories are coming from and cut that shit back if it's not meat.

Had you actually looked into Ray Peat, you'd know that it's all about your body temperature, not a certain food.

yes, I have not gone completely down the rabbit hole but it seems most people focus on their intake of easily digested carbohydrates maybe introduce coffee and aspirin to increase the metabolic rate

Some Peatarians don't even drink coffee or take aspirin, it's all subjective. Still, these are perfectly fine things to do.
I like low fat milk, fresh OJ with sugar and baking soda, lots of liver, some white rice, instant coffee in my low fat milk, lots of good cheese, a bit of ground beef and maybe a raw carrot. I rarely take aspirin because I feel like I'm generally always low on vitamin K and aspirin apparently depletes it (I don't like supplements beside vitamin D on days I can't get sun).
But it doesn't stop there. Regulating working and lifting is also big. Overtraining is very real and it was a big component of me having chronic gut issues.

No diets, those are fads. I just eat healthy and will for the rest of my life.
    >Mostly veggies, limit potatoes
    >fish is good
    >no added sugar foods
    >No caloric drinks, only water, coffee, tea
    >Only eat food I cook. No preprocessed foods.
    >Hit my macros
That's it. That's all you need. All the weird dissections of dietary intake and "optimal" nutrition is useless. You will take more years off your life worrying about X than you will add by getting X right (insert: anything into X that IST screams about on a daily basis). As long as you follow the above, you are doing better than 99% of the population.

Why do you limit potatoes? I though they were pretty healthy as far as carbs go

Pretty healthy in comparison to white rice, corn etc but not as good legumes and more complex carbs

I’ve done the same thing for the past 20 years(I’m 40) and I’ve never had issues staying in good shape. My wife used to argue with me about this but now she just knows I’m right. I have friends that have gotten fat, try to explain this shit to them and they still think it’s about exercising more. Also, whenever I go out for a nice meal, I just make up for it by limiting my caloric input. It’s not hard, but there’s so many fricking grifters out there selling their snake oil diet plan.

This is correct - to feel good, eat healthy whole grains and veggies + a good amount of protein (but don't overdo animal protein as your body simply won't be able to absorb it, you'll overload your liver and actually end up with protein deficiency).

I wouldn't limit potatoes - instead, limit gluten for a time and see how you feel without it. To arrive at the optimal diet, OP, test things out. Start with a very simple diet like I describe above, exclude eggs and dairy and gluten for 8 weeks. Then try adding things one after another to see what works for you and what doesn't.

Don't eat too late and have some light cardio (walking) daily in the evenings.

You guys like to pretend we spend over a decade studying and yet somehow know nothing about our own field. Acknowledging our expertise is not "sucking dick", it's common sense, but your types do the exact opposite because you're jealous or something.

Makes you just want your patients dead huh?

Only disrespectful smartasses who think they are above everyone else like the schizos here on IST

I eat whatever I want, whenever I want. My body knows the nutrients it needs. Just yesterday I had some dark chocolate pretzels and almost had an orgasm.

The best thing you can do before eliminating food groups is by the highest quality versions of the food you like to eat. Non GMO, organic, grass fed etc and then see how you feel after a few weeks.

It's not hard. Eat meat, moderate amount of carbs, and veggies. Don't over do it. Lift.

    Its simple

    You eat some carbs
rice, pasta, potato, oats, bread, fruit

    you eat some animal protein
meat, chicken, eggs, fish, milk dairy

    You eat some vegetables
whatever you like, the more the better. Onion, pepper, broccoli, spinach, tomato, carrots and so on

    And you get some fat
eggs, meat, FISH, nuts, oils, butter, milk dairy

Count your calories and change total caloric intake based on goals of cutting/bulking.

If you fall in to any of those diet categories you are just playing identity politics/social signaling for internet points like a fricking moron.

all of those are fad diets, just create a good multivitamin stack to save yourself from stressing about getting your micronutrients from le organic grass finished meats/fruits/veggies out there and balance healthy fats with quality carbs and proteins high in lucein, just refrain from a diet that includes highly processed garbage like seed oils and processed carbs ie cheetos and hostess cakes
