Are watches cringe? I heard someone on here call them "wrist fedoras" and I've been wondering if I'm making a fool of myself every time I wear one

I refuse to believe someone here is that autistic and embedded in internet culture to think that

No they're fine. They're at worst completely neutral and unnoticeable.

I usually wear a F-91W both ironically and because I find it legitimately the nicest and best watch. Here's the thing - I like the faces of some other watches but they always fricking cover the vast majority of my wristlet wrist, a bit like OP's pic and I have no idea why they make them that big. The F-91W has a nice small face that then makes your wrist and hand look a good size in comparison.

I have like 7 watches and like my F91W the most by far why am I like this

They're not really necessary anymore since everyone always carries phones and they seem a bit like what a poorgay would do to seem high status imo.

It’s quicker to check the time when it’s on your wrist and then you can check the time during a conversation without seeming like you’re not paying attention to your boss, gf, mother, etc. while checking the time. I started wearing a watch after watching my boss checking the time on his phone while pretending to listen to someone talk about how they’d seen someone burn alive in an accident (aviation industry). It may be convenient to just check the time on your phone but it gives the impression you’re not paying attention.

Get older brah your bones keep growing

At 18 I was a wristlet, measured at bang on 6 inches. Old as frick now and they're 7.5 inches. Shoulders got a lot broader too. So if you're a baby zoomer then just wait till you physically mature

Watches are class, they make any outfit look better

They can be ok conversation starters, especially if you wear unique looking ones and have an autistic passion for them or if you have stories to tell about them. Kind of like talking to cargays about cars.
Sure, they're probably pointless due to smartphones these days, but I find it way more convenient to look at my watch for the time rather than fumbling with pulling my phone out and risking getting distracted by it.

        >but I find it way more convenient to look at my watch for the time
You just demonstrated that they're not pointless
I used to wear watches in high school because for i.e. exams, you had to know how much time you had left and the clocks were wildly inconsistent in quality. And obviously you couldn't use your phone.

and I was also gonna say that although I don't wear em nowadays I will admit it takes me a little longer to get the time, especially if I'm sitting down. So I wouldn't consider them purely fashion pieces just yet

      No
There is no muscles in the wrists only tendons
You can get fat wrists by being fat but you have to get really really fat before the fat starts moving to the wrists
      maybe implants?
maybe they can implant fat to the area?

    >How to increase wrist thickness
You don't. There's no muscle tissue to grow on the wrists, it's all bone and connective tissue like ligaments and tendons.
The best you can do is grow your forearms to take attention away from your wrists. If you're seriously insecure about your wrists you can hide them in longsleeve shirts or writs accessories like chunky fitted bracelets/watches.
If that isn't enough, hop on HGH and hope like hell that'll help.

what if you get really fat and then lose weight

        Anonymous

        Depends on genetics entirely
Fatness may or may not accumulate on your wrists depending on how your body stores fat. And even if you can accumulate on your wrists, they'll shrink back down as soon as you lose weight.
I dunno man take a vacation in Turkey and get some discount surgeon to implant metal plates in your wrists to make them bigger. I'd personally advise against it since you're not addressing your deep seated BDD issues, but do what you got to do.

You people never cease to amaze me over the crap you decide to get insecure about.
Face it, everyone has problems. Literally everyone. Whether those problems are immediately noticeable is a different story. You will never ever be perfect and there are some things you can't change.
You know what you can change though? Your attitude and outlook on life. Own your deficiencies. Confidence cuts through criticism like a knife. Stop giving into despair, that's what ~~*they*~~ want you to do.

      >everyone has problems
Most people don't actually have them though, at least nothing big. If your problem is what to eat and what person you're gonna frick today, you habe absolutely 0 problems in life, and that is most people.

        i agree
        >we all have issues
this is the dumbest argument you can make when theres people with actual issues. peopel pretend theyre on the same level cause they lost family members to natural death, when theyre talking to someone who got abused throughout their lives.
or people who have felt sad thinks they know how certain mental issues feels.

HGH made me feel grow pains like back when I was young but instead of only in my shins I feel it also in my wrists and it makes me feel good that shit is growing. If I get cancer then that's what is, but living as wristlet is hell. Just when I was almost over my insecurity an autistic girl just straight came to up to me and said I have small wrists and I said nothing but on the inside I was crushed because she told the truth that all women see.

Fricking women... I usually look at it like a test when they complain about something. Just be a bit narcissistic and show you don't give af. They're just testing to see i you react insecurely or are ready to shut them down. It's 50/50, man/woman who gets positive attention in a relationship along with everything else, so if she reacts badly she's moronic anyways.

Anyone wear a fitness stat tracker watch? Most seem to have wifi or always-on Bluetooth and I’m sus of that.
Also mostly see dyels wearing them and the faces are usually way too big.

I used to but there's no point if you're actually fit. It's really easy to know if you're doing enough exercise just by how you feel.

I have learnt to go by feel, but sometimes that’s delayed by a day or two, I was thinking watching HR variability type stuff could help for that. And see what stuff stresses me out with breath rate etc to try and control it. Also moreso tracking sleep and get some kind of number to see if that correlates to my mood and what types of things have helped it or worsened it.
I tried wearing an old fit bit someone lent me for a cardio base building phase, but I found the HR monitor less accurate than counting beats pm manually.
I guess most of that doesn’t relate to lifting but I thought some people would use them here.

My wrist size increased a little, didn't wear my watch for about a year and now it's uncomfortably tight. I've only been doing kettlebell shit like snatches and farmers carries.
It's not BF either because I weight less total, so at the very least it's definitely possible to grow wrists with some grip works if you start at auschwitz mode.
However it's incredibly minimal and your forearms will grow much more, exacerbating the ratio, so just stop caring about your wrist, because literally no one else does.

ive done manual labour most of my adult life. nothing have improved my wrist thickness, fingers got a bit thicker, and the muscle of the hands grew a bit. but theres almost no muscles to grow, in the wrist, itself.
