I am going to start using retinol serum for skin. Is it good, has anyone here tried it? Anything I should know?

Go with the other one moron, the cyan coloured one. If you can get a prescription get the other better version forgot the name. Start with a pea size every other day preferably during the night because if you go out your skin gets sensitive.

Ah shit i got the purple one I will get cyan one next time. What is difference between the two?

I haven't tried the cerave stuff, I've run the gamut of The Ordinary retinoids though and have no complaints. Only thing to keep in mind with those is that the retinol degrades fast and it's only really usable for 3 months (it doesn't go bad or anything, just becomes ineffective goo, but for the price it's still an okay deal).
If you switch, I'd recommend going with the lowest percentage emulsion and working your way up. I find the ones in straight squalane can feel uncomfortably oily unless you use it gingerly.

        >What is difference between the two?
At a glance, the cyan one has niacinamide which people rave about. Personally I'd choose the one you've got, my skin seems to love hyaluronic acid but I see no difference with niacinamide. I'd just see how you go with what you've got and switch it up when you're ready for another bottle.

Like the others said, start with usage every other day. Expect your skin to peel a little, that's normal and will go away as you get used to it.

you might want to sandwich that with a moisturizer to lessen the chances of irritating your skin. So like, moisturizer, retinol, and then moisturizer again

it's good for brightening up dark spots ln your face and it's also anti-inflammatory. Hyaluronic acid is just for plumping up your skin as it is a humectant, and I don't think they're comparable

            >and I don't think they're comparable
Yeah I don't think so either, just depends if you have issues with your skin that niacinamide would be good for.

Which concentrations did you go through? Wondering if I can skip from 0.2% (shouldn't have even bothered tbh, lol) to 1.0% instead of going through 0.5%.

Don't bother using that. Notice how it doesn't specify the concentration of retinol? Only produces that have a negligible amount would do that. Besides, you'll also want to know that so you can work up to a higher concentration as your tolerance improves. The Ordinary is a good brand for retinol. The prescription he's referring to is tretinoin.

Does nothing. Google for 5 minutes and you'll find places that sell prescription tretnoin cream for half the price that revolutionizes your skin care game.

I don't think you can get prescription tretnoin cream without a doctor prescription. I don't see why a doctor would give me one

What Country are you in? My GP gave me a script pretty easily in Australia. I just said it was for acne

Do you actually have acne? I'm not OP but I'm also aussie, I was looking to get a script online but they all asked me to describe my face with multiple choice photos of varying degrees of acne and wouldn't let me progress unless I chose the most pizzaface one, and at the end they wanted me to pay for a video consultation where the doc would obviously see I'm not a pizza face, just incredibly vain.

dumbass there are online clinics that sell pretty much anything from chud estrogen to tretinoin to thyroid meds to ivermectin.

I don't know if this is possible in UK. We have much more strict prescription rules here. It is not like USA at all. I do not have acne so it would not be possible for me to ask for it for that reason.
Does the product I linked in my pic really not do anything at all?

really don't see any reason why a doctor would deny a script for tretinoin or differin. even if you say it's for aging and not acne.
I don't use it any more but all I had to do was submit pictures that showed pretty mild acne and I got like 2 years worth. probably could've done it without the pictures too. mind you this was in sweden where online clinics are pretty lax

Celebrities use serums and lotions/creams containing stem cells from foreskins, they all look better than you. Try that.sasgtj
