if you think going this hard in the long run is a smart move for longevity you're not pushing yourself very hard or lifting very heavy

You sound like you're coping/making excuses far too early for you to be worth anyone's time. Just continue being a neet incel anon.

        >if you're not an easily injured idiot with bad form or a pussy who can't handle some discomfort you're not lifting heavy like me

Why would getting stronger and building lean muscle harm your longevity? Do you think pushing yourself for the average lifter means doing 7 plate deadlifts while blood gushes out of your nose or something?

Yes, he's a moron. That's exactly what he thinks despite not lifting anywhere near that heavy. Just a wuss looking for an excuse to go extra easy or quit.

My ability to cope with being 30 was understanding that nobody stops you from doing shit. You can do whatever sounds cool for the foreseeable future. You can still play MTG, you can still lift heavy, you can still watch anime, you can still join the army with the implicit intent to murder people effectively, you can still get rich, you can still cum inside 18 year olds, you can still finger MILFs in the parking lot of the shopping center at 10pm after going to Panera Bread. You can do whatever the FRICK you want like you could before and you can do until your ticker stops ticking

If you're not training for a competition and generally want to keep health benefits while also looking good, stick to 8-12 reps and emphasize form before weight. I took the better part of a year breaking down my form on bench, squat, pull exercises etc. and was really pleasantly surprised how well I could target a muscle group with less weight.

I also started doing more stabilization exercises which in turn has made a noticeable drop in overuse injuries due to properly activating muscle groups on exercises.

Pretty much work smarter not harder

You don't stop playing because you become old, you become old because you stopped playing.

You should stop lifting now and start eating doritos and fast food. Be sure to drink soda, as that is a part of being over 30

Im 36 and I push myself harder than I did 10 years ago. I get it though. I had the same mindset you did when I turned 30. You'll realize its complete bullshit at some point, I hope

People dread their 30's until they quickly realize that it is the best decade of your life if you halfway have your shit together

I'm 32 now and if anything I get stronger and stronger. Why the frick would I stop? if you get injured it's because you don't strech before and/or after lifting or do some moronic 5plate bs.

    >lifting heavy
no reason to lift heavy, just lift the right amount to develop the muscles size and endurance you need for your sport. I'm 55 and still lift and cardio every day. I did not start slowing down until about 52, I could feel a bit less strength and endurance, but keeping fit for 35 years really helped. You can stay fit for a long time if you stay fit, but if you office chair max you will lose muscle, flexibility, and endurance as you age max and its easier to keep then to try to get back.

Staying lean as you age is way more important than worrying about lifting heavy. Start prioritizing cardio more.
