I was told to do ss
Then was told ss was bad
Then was told to do an aesthetic routine to be shredded by summer
Then was told aesthetic routines before strength programs fail
Then was told to do a hybrid program
But then told it's only for intermediates
What the frick do I do

I lost a month already and I didn't go. I want to be strong and aesthetic. I don't want to be laughed at at the beach, people in my country are very judgemental and it makes the USA look like mother theresa.

      What country? I live in the very judgemental United Kingdom and I just signed up for a gym last month. I've gone 4 times a week without fail. I skipped the bench today because it was too crowded, went back at 11pm and the place was closed. Gonna go tomorrow morning to get my bench down. Working out is just fun to me now. I don't care about looks or anything like that, I just enjoy lifting weights and getting stronger. Okay that's a lie, I love looking at myself in the mirror going from a scrawny armed loser into something better

Not worth mentioning the country, but we have a lot of giga chads here. I'm studying in the states for 4 years but I'm coming back for the summer next year over there. 2020 and 2021 got me in lock downs for my freshman and sophomore years, and 2022-2023 pounded me with exams. This is my last year and I want to make it count since I have a lot of free time. It's a lot of pressure on me mentally.

          Anyway, you need to get strong first so just do ss and stop listening to fit

          If you're a beginner you can literally go and do whatever and make gains so stop procrastinating. SS is good if you're a complete beginner no matter what your goals are because it helps you learn the movements. If you don't want to do powerlifting then just do it till you feel confident with the movements and go move on to something else

    Step 2 don't listen to anybody else's advice until you've finished the program treat Rippetoe as your God and SS his Bible until then you're only allowed to watch fitness videos with Rippetoe in them

      Choose any program and start tomorrow. Literally any. The knowledge you get from running a program is irreplaceable. Running different programs over the years has helped me inch closer to an ideal program design scheme for myself every time

    Do 3x5 bench press, 3x5 squat, 1x5 deadlift. I do not care whatever some other homosexual says about this or its efficiency, you WILL do the above exactly in that order, and you WILL do it now.
    Do this, then come back and we can talk routine. Leave the starting line before you decide how to get to the finish line, all those other guys who did the most dumb, inefficent shit in the last month are now all 2 weeks ahead of you.
