I don't know who to trust

You will say getting a coach is not necessary when there is so much free information out there online but here's the catch: I never lifted a weight in my life, I never did any fitness related thing in my life. All I know is that I want to get into bodybuilding because I want to look attractive. I don't give a shit about sports, all I care about is becoming more physically attractive.

I don't know who to trust. I don't have all day to sift through a sea of content to find out what is true and false. My brain is burned out by reading and watching endless fitness content and I haven't even accomplished anything, it's like being in a prison.

I'm considering going into debt to hire a coach, free info or self learning all of this stuff is not better and most often it's a privilege most people including myself will never have.

Just lift. If you really have no idea what to do, just do pushups, situps, pullups while you are learning.

If you have dumbbells, Curls are the simplest lift you can do.

Most gyms give you a free personal training session when you sign up. They'll give you a basic workout program, show you how to do the exercises and sometimes they do your measurements/bodyfat/goals. It's a lead in to get you to sign up for regular sessions which you should probably consider, at least two or three until you've got the basics down. Failing that, do you know anyone who works out already? I've taken plenty of friends to the gym over the years and shown them the ropes.

You're on the right path brother, I'd work out with you. Do the PT thing, lifting is pretty straightforward. Once you learn the lifts and have a program you don't really need anyone's help. You can self correct as you go.

That is exactly what I was doing, scouring the internet consuming content I don't understand or know if it's true and getting nowhere.

you'll very rarely stumble onto outright dangerous misinformation. at worst, you'll find things that may be suboptimal or not relevant to your interests.
lifting for beginners is actually stupidly simple, it's not until like a good year or more into it that workouts have to get more complicated, and even longer before plateaus require detective work to push through. and lifting just to look good is even simpler than lifting for strength or to assist a specific sport.

reading the op i was gonna say 'sure dude just get a fricking trainer no one's stopping you' but if you go into debt for it you're an idiot. trainers are for lazy people who have too much money. it's really not that complicated.

Trial and error. Start with one exercise. Like Push Ups. Perfect Push Ups. See how your body reacts. Figure out the kinks. Then start including another exercise a week or two later.

Posture, Recovery, and getting your body up to a basic fitness level injury free and without muscle imbalances or unhealthy posture is most important in the beginning.
