I dont understand fatties

I eat fast food almost every week, usually eat some chocolate after lunch. And in general i dont deprive myself of "forbidden" foods, yet im able to constantly hold my weight at a healthy level and cut after heavy meals such as christmas etc.
Fatties really must have terrible self control to balloon like they often do, zero fricking excuses

You ever get craving for something? A couple of beers, some slopburger, some greasy or low nutrition something, and you get it. I wanted some potat chips and I got one. That was like more than a month ago and I only just now realized something called potat chips exists. This is exactly where fatties differ. They get this craving for stuff, but like 15 times for 30 different things per day. And deeper you indulge the more you crave as body practically gets hooked on craving for something.
I know these fatties. You get hungry and you eat. They dont get hungry to eat. They just eat. They continue eating even if they are full. Ive witnessed it, they eat something, 15-20 mins later again they start rummaging around for a piece of snack. Then repeat. It never stops. They even wake up from deep sleep at the sound of opening a package makes. Its ridiculus.

Metabolic disease is like drinking water that evaporates before it can quench your thirst. You're stuffing your face with plant-based foods, like oreos, spices in general, Doritos, tacos, pizzas, etc. All of these foods are quite tasty and addictive. These plant foods block your body's ability to feel satiated simultaneously. That means you get hungrier the more you eat until suddenly you physically cannot eat more and your blood sugar is elevated. Eating to fullness off of plant-based foods like pizza and cake means being full ot non-nutritive addictive, non-satiating slop. Your malnourished body deeply needs nutrition and is now addicted to these plant-based foods, so you continue to indulge.
These plant-based foods just so happen to be the cheapest foods out there.

America's politicians created the food pyramid and the works derived from it. The plant industries know they are causing obesity through metabolic disease, but they're not going to stop.

Fat people are sick but they think they're normal and want to keep eating Lmao
Imagine just being ok and accepting a permanent illness
      Trash
No respect for that thinking, which prevails by the way
Problems are meant to be handled instantly, not waddled on because you like inspiration to live your life well

all of these answers are 100% correct, simultaneously. People don't bloat up to two and more times their natural weight due to single causes, but due to an accumulation of causes.

Nothing more wrong than someone on IST going 'These people are right!"
        >People don't bloat up to two and more times their natural weight due to single causes, but due to an accumulation of causes.
This is moronic, you gain weight because you are, day after day, consuming more calories than your body requires for your given activity level, the opposite is also true, you lose weight when you are consistently in a calorie deficit
This is not fricking particle physics, you people are just morons

Well yeah, that is the immediate cause, but we tend to look at deeper reasons for WHY people do this. Like, when a plane crashes, we don't just say "oh the wing fell off" or "the ground crew didn't put enough fuel in" and call it a day, because that helps no one. We investigate further to see how we can stop that from happening in the future.

          >This is moronic, you gain weight because you are, day after day, consuming more calories than your body requires for your given activity level,

That's the thing though, there are people who couldn't eat that much if they wanted to, and there are people who have a hard time not eating that much. What you need to understand is that someone who is capable of actually getting to 600 pounds is just as genetically gifted as an olympic bodybuilder, just in a different way, they are the top 1%, most people couldn't get to that weight if they tried, and those people have to try much harder to maintain a healthy weight. Anyone can be IST but lets not pretend it takes the same thing for everyone, some people are skinny by nature and have a hard time gaining weight even if they wanted to, and the opposite is also true.

Haha, yeah, you try that bro. Just try it for a few weeks, you won't be able to. Your body has ecided on a set point and won't allow you to change it in either direction without Herculean force.

You're right that your body can't stop you from eating a certain amount but he's right that it can make it difficult. It's called homeostasis. We're extremely habitual. Fatties aren't eating more and more every day. They're eating the same amount every day and accruing the lard over time. This is also the reason it's hard to gain muscle. Your body doesn't want to eat more any more than it wants to eat less.

Some people are just genetically much worse. It's evolutionary misfit from development in a food insecure environment, and now being endlessly surrounded by borderline free calories.

Genetic factors make people more inclined to be fat. If you were skinny as a child, you'd have a hard time ever being fat, if you easily put on weight as a child, you'll have to work out really hard to maintain a fit body.

I think a lot of the time, people have a baseline but very frequently overindulge that baseline. This inturn causes the weight to just accumulate over time and in more extreme cases shift that baseline to somthing more and more

they don't actually satiate their hunger with proper food. If you're at a normal weight and eat normally you will maybe have a chocolate bar or something and be fine with that. Fatties get hungry and then they buy a huge pile of slop and satiate their hunger while simultaneously eating for the pleasure itself which ends up in a crazy amount of overeating. Repeat that for every single meal and you become an animal like that

You have a higher metabolism. You get enough protein and you do enough to use it to make muscle causing you to get a higher metabolism and need to eat even more. It's an endless cycle of being based. When fatties tell me how jealous they are because I eat even more than they do I'm like "yeah, no shit. Food is good for you." They keep avoiding anabolic stuff like fat and cholesterol and eating non foods though, which keeps them weak and then their 2000 calories a day is 200 too many and it turns into a little bit more fat every day. Fricking idiots.

The starting point to answering this question is why do we have a problem now that didn't exist 100 years ago? What has changed in the last 100 years?

    - Processed foods (designed to be cheap, delicious, and essentially addictive)
    - Added Sugar
    - Overall reduced physical activity especially as it relates to peoples jobs
    - Public acceptance of being overweight or obese

There are certainly more, but the point is that its a multifaceted problem. What I will say in general is that as a person who who has basically spent the last 10 years dirty bulking, to be obese borderline requires a deliberate effort to gain weight...these people are either eating constantly, eating well past the point of being full, or eating super calorically dense foods because casual bad eating will not getting you to the point of obesity in my experience, it gets you to something like picrel (chubby but not obese).

      >eating constantly, eating well past the point of being full, or eating super calorically dense foods
You said it yourself. It's hard to get big. I do all this and struggle too. They're not eating calorically dense foods because it would raise their metabolism and they'd share our problem.
      >casual bad eating will not getting you to the point of obesity
Yes it will. Fat gain isn't like muscle gain. You keep as much muscle as you're using. You lose it upon using it and your body and replaces as much as it needs. You can keep the fat you gain forever. Gain a little bit every day because no matter how hard you try your metabolism stays low and, with your shitty diet, the amount of nutrients you need is surrounded by calories you don't; then never burn it and guess what happens? Obesity.

Speaking as a former fattie, lack of self-control is part of it, but it's more that I just didn't really think about long-term consequences, only what I wanted in the short-term. I decided I wanted to eat a whole large pizza for dinner? I did. Eat half a dozen donuts for breakfast the next day? Sure. Did I think about it making me fatter? Nope, just that it tasted good in the moment.
As others have said, sense of satiety gets fricked too. Takes way more food to feel satisfied. And I would often continue eating well past that point anyways. And then I'd be back a couple hours later to eat more.
