I feel fricking moronic
When lifting are you supposed to do all the sets of one exercise at once then move onto another?
I was doing all my sets in a rotation…

Wow anon, how lucky you've been blessed with an auto thread bumper. Also it doesn't really matter, rotating is sort of like supersets.

You can try that. But you're not going to get the gains you want from it. The pump is important for gains because it causes your body to form more capillaries which support more size. What you're doing is an old technique called peripheral flushing. It's not used by anyone because it's no good.
>all the sets of one exercise at once then move onto another
That's the standard method of training. However, keep in mind that you should not be resting more than 30-45 seconds per set. Intensity is essential for growth. A great technique is to utilize supersets with two exercises. With a superset, you perform one set of an exercise for a muscle group, then you perform an exercise for an opposing muscle group (i.e. barbell curl into overhead extension) immediately after completing the first exercise. Then you take a short rest if needed and repeat the superset.
ok thanks ill stop being moronic
This is trolling.
What you are talking about is totally fine and actually better for growth since you are getting longer rest, but it hogs up the gym equipment which is why people don't do it.
OP listen to this it’s true
Your muscles dgaf what order you do exercises
There's this guy in my gym who does this. I started going to the gym earlier just to avoid him.
I can't tell if he doesn't know any better, or if this is some shit he read to do online.
Rotation is called circuit training.
is it necessarily worse or better?
NTA, but, circuit training will place more of an emphasis on cardio, if you care about maximizing muscle and strength gain, make sure that your cardio isn't the limiting factor of your sets. Super/giant sets are best used to save time where the exercises are not as systemically demanding as others. A curl and extension for the bicep and triceps is a lot better to superset as they will not interfere with one another as opposed to super setting say deadlifts and squats. Deadlifts and squats target mostly the same muscles, and are very demanding on the cardiovascular/nervous system. If you are concerned with muscle and strength gain, make sure you are fully recovered between sets to stress your muscles optimally.
lmao imagine having to change plates every single fricking set
I do that when hitting chest one set each angle and then up the weight, hitting a muscle groupe with different sets can be beneficial if u do reach failure
So you're the moron who runs up from across the gym yelling "HEY I WAS STILL USING THAT"
Read the fricking sticky Black person
No way that's true right? How were you dealing with having to wait for equipment every single time??
>sets in a rotation
It's a little bit better.
It's more effective time-wise, because it allows for shorter rest times.
In case you want to primarily lose weight, it's even better, because you can do it in HIIT fashion while maintaining fat-burning heart rate.
Bad part is that people might steal the equipment while you are not using it.
Wouldnt it take more time constantly switching through everything?
