I have a home gym but I rarely use it. It is literally 3 feet next to my desk at this moment. I spend 10 hours a day F5-ing the catalog but I hardly workout for 2 hours every week. Please for the love of god how do I fix this. Non-meme replies only so "just do it" etc is not useful
And yes I know I lack motivation and am probably depressed. I know I should "just do it" but I literally cant.
How the frick do I solve this?
turn off your computer
IST is a huge gainzgoblin
I also brows other boards
but yeah, turning off the computer for like 1 hour until I have finished my workout would be a good way maybe
Only decent reply in the thread
The rest in the thread are a bunch of trolls
>Imagine finding joy in laughing at other people who struggle to become better instead of just helping them
you guys are ngmi and karma will get you
I am 100% serious, and this is the best advice you could ever give this guy. If you're trying to find some magic trick to make yourself do shit, you ARE deluding yourself. We have free will and have full control of our actions. Addressing this fact is the root to all discipline.
>just be happy bro
yes im 100% serious too, you sir are gona win the nobel price. You have basicly solved any fricking psychologic illness by shitposting on an anime inspired fitness board
You're such a seething homosexual kek
Recieve my sage advice or rot in your heathen ways, it's your choice. Just know I love you and I hope with all my heart you will listen.
Just do it bro
Unironically, learning that motivation is fake and that you have to just force yourself to do things that you don't want to do was a huge life changer for me. Unfortunately there's no trick to it, you just have to suck it up. If you keep sitting around waiting to be "motivated" you end up like OP
Help I cant fix my depression
>Just be happy bro but this time actually for real just do it xD
That is how you cure depression, suck it up and push forward
>t. used to put a gun in my mouth every so often to see if I’d do it today
You don't need motivation when you have discipline
Set an alarm on your phone an hour after you wake up with 3 more filling timers till you do it
When you are sleeping that thing is outside fighting off the alien invasion
What kind of psuedo jungle gym piece of transformer looking ass equipment is this
Looks like a powertec multi system with TSA plates.
I have the standard plates and the handles are nice, not too much casting flashing on the inside.
Some cap plates that I got are worse, plan on just hitting the flashing with my grinder.
The idea is similar to hammer strength lever machines but with more options.
I lift between catalog refreshes.
1 set of lifting
1 set of shitposting
Repeat until failure.
Used to have that setup but switched to this. Only cost $50 from hasbro and the gains have been great
Squats can be a bit awkrad but other than that I've made great progress
>Non-meme replies only so "just do it" etc is not useful
This is precisely your issue, moron. You expect there to be some magical technique that can make you do shit, but that's not how it works. You're engaging in a form of self-deception to remove your agency over your own actions. In reality, you are in full control of everything you do. You choose to not work out. Because you simply don't want. There is nothing stopping you. Your gym is right next to you. You simply don't want to, because you don't REALLY think it is the best thing to do. The only thing that will ever actually help you is "just do it lmao". There you have it. That's your magical answer.
shut the frick up moron
one guy gave good advice (turn off computer during workout)
"just do it" is literally the same as telling someone with cancer to "just get well" or someone whos depressed "just be happy"
You fricking goddamn moron
dont reply in my thread again
just do it gayet
Wow great idea
how do I get money?
>Just become rich bro
Unlike the highly complex machinations of economy and business success which involve any number of immutable external factors, you getting off your ass is contingent only on you getting off your ass
>Just do it bro
Sir you just keep on rocking. I think we dont even need the internet anymore
>Comparing getting well from cancer to literally just getting your ass up from the computer chair and walking 3 feet to your home gym
It's unironically over for you. You lack the frontal lobe development to control your actions.
>psychology isn't real bro
based moron
buttmad homosexual genetic deadend
what's the matter, homosexual? too pussy to train?
seems like a gene issue you subhuman frick
I dont think you quite appreciate the seriousness of the situation. You just won the nobel price of psychology bro. Depressed? Just be happy! Schizophrenia? Just dont listen to the other people living in your head! Suffering from phobias? Just dont be scared bro!
Thanks to you sir we no longer need treatments, psychologists, hospitals, medicine. You sir are a fricking genious and are gonna be a billionaire!
>Depressed? Just be happy! Schizophrenia? Just dont listen to the other people living in your head! Suffering from phobias? Just dont be scared bro!
Unironically yes to all of those. Stop being a homosexual and get out there. Just do it!
>Verification not needed.
you are not gonna make it
What a homosexual lol. I lift with shitty weights all the time that's far away from me. Too moronic to literally lift
Biggest motivation for people often isn't being strong and fit but not being able to fit in your pants.
>Please for the love of god how do I fix this.
Just lift.
Whats the meaning of life?
>Just find out bro
WOAAAWWWWW
just lift, why are you in this thread instead of lifting right fricking now?
Because I cant put myself to it for some reason
you're a lazy sack of shit relying on motivation instead of discipline and youre rotting away in a corner.
t. someone like that
so how do you fix it
by building discipline, idk read a self-help book or something
hmmm no
enjoy being human waste then
Put on some good music from youtube and start lifting. You need to build a habit out of lifting.
>willpower -> build discipline -> use discipline to perform task -> repeat task a bunch of times -> form habit
willpower is a limited resource so it will take some time to change. after creating the habit you dont need as much of it.
it sucks to get the ball rolling but you just have to suck it up at first, no one else is gonna do it
if you want an answer that isn't
>just lift
I'd start by fixing other parts of your life, establishing better habits and trying to get rid of the depression. Go to bed before midnight, eat clean, go for a walk and get some sun, find an easy hobby to spend an hour or so on. These are all simple things that you can do every day and don't require much motivation or effort, yet they will benefit you greatly. Try and do all of that in the morning before you even think about turning the computer on. By doing this you can slowly create a balance between more productive time and less productive time. At the end of each day at least you can say it wasn't completely wasted, right? You're working on it and improving. When you feel up to it you can work in more 'difficult' hobbies or activities, do some calisthenics, cardio, lifting whatever. Start studying something. Maybe look for a job or some friends.
Most importantly you have to dedicate yourself to this long term. It will be a slow process. You're not going to fix your shit over night, in a week, or even a month, but you have to try and keep going no matter what. Eventually you will get to a point where you're at least somewhat satisfied with your life and routine. Hopefully your mental health will have improved significantly and you will then be able to force yourself to do things easier and become disciplined.
>Non-meme replies only so "just do it" etc is not useful
>what's 2+2 and don't give me a meme answer like 4 give me a real answer
*Sigh*
Yeah
>How do I just do something with no barriers to begin
>Don't tell me to just do it
You’re a really piece of shit with a homosexual attitude. Entitled fricking clown. You should sell that equipment to someone who would put it to use, since all you’re doing with it is using as an excuse to NOT lift. With the extra money maybe you can enrich your life with your other hobbies if you had any besides sitting in front of a computer with your dick in your hand.
>I have all this but still… I just can’t
Attention seeking is a childish and feminine behavior. Making excuses is a childish and feminine behavior.
HERES WHAT YOU DO:
1.NOFAP (OPTIONAL). FAPPING IS A HUGE TIME SINK THOUGH.
2. BUY AND JUST TAKE PREWORKOUT THEN LEAVE THE HOUSE.
3. YOU NO LONGER HAVE A HOME GYM: Since you have a "home gym" in your mind, by having that monstrosity, you have already done 50% of a workout. Your subconscious is fricking you up. I would take a strong preworkout and then just start walking outside with a heavy backpack/weights.
4. BUY STUPID WORKOUT SHIT. Waste your money on things that make you want to use them at the gym. Buy meme equipment, clothing, bottles, supplements. Youll get a temporary dopamine hit when you buy the item, then the anticipation will lead to an even bigger dopamine hit when the package arrives and you open it, use those little dopamine hits to get yourself outside.
lastly, all this "i cant" talk is really fricking shit behavior and i hope you fail. i literally hope you never workout and i hope you die. Sorry but you sound like an insufferable c**t who wants things to just fall into place for you *you have always gotten handouts your whole life* and now that you have hit a small speedbump you dont know how to cope. Just KYS.
Since you lack ability to make decisions, you need to a drill sergeant type to force your fat ass to do it. Think Heavy Metal Jacket, and you're the fat guy.
I'm serious. Find someone off craigslist who will beat you up if you don't lift.
You have to make yourself do it
Define a specific time of day that you're going to lift and then lift at that time everyday
test, tren, adrol. you won't be able to sit still
are you a neet?
What works for me is having a weekly routine. Pretty much every program will explain how that works. I like to follow my routine on the same days at the same time. An example, maybe not a good one but it illustrates my point.
Monday Wednesday and Friday at 0023 do 25% of 1rm barbell hip thrusts to failure followed by left hand suitcase carries at a weight you can maintain for 69 minutes. On Tuesday and Thursday at 1620 5/3/1 decline benchpress and 5x20 calf raises. Saturday and Sunday take is easy and just do cardio, 1 mile skipping and then hopscotch back.
Sounds crazy but having a routine and scheduled time for it makes it easy to do things.
It's weird how moronic the human mind can be. For me with only home gym I lose motivation. But if I sign up to a local gym, I feel motivated to go because it's a financial commitment. But then I get bored of going there and having to put up with people etc so I feel motivated to lift with home gym on days when I don't wanna go.
I'm literally the opposite. I dropped so much on my home gym that if I ever want to skip a workout I feel like I'm stealing my own money
Is this machine a good investment? The only downside I see of using machine vs free weights is "muh balance and stabilization" but what if I combine this with calisthenics tricks(planches, handstand push ups, pistol squats, etc...) That require lots of balance already and seems to compensate
kek you are pathetic OP. like a spoiled child who has everything but can't bring himself to do a simple routine. nothing can help you at this point. you are doomed to ngmi.
That piece of equipment looks sick, what are the dimensions? How much you want for it?
Also just don’t lift, it’s not for everyone. Don’t know why this autistic board makes it seem like the whole planet should be lifting weights.
everyone with a desk job should lift weights
Just browse on your phone while working out. That’s what I do.
How the frick do you not workout with that set up? I'd train constantly whilst watching anime or jerking off to troony porn or whatever you do. ITS LITERALLY RIGHT THERE
Man you losers will make any excuse, frick me if you just lifted you'd even feel better. Bet you haven't even been diagnosed you big wet sopping vegana
Buy expensive supplements. When you take them, you have to work out or youre flushing money down the toilet.
What works for me is conditioning myself the night before and preparing my equipment. Then in the morning before I get a chance to wake up and get in front of the computer I move to the gym room and force myself to sit there for 20 minutes. Not work out but not leave the gym room for 20 minutes. Then around minute 10 or so I kind of feel stupid just sitting around and start lifting the weight I loaded the night before. From then on, its just going through the motions. And I allow myself to drop the workout if I don't feel like it after 20 mins of sitting in the room. But I have never felt like not doing it after I moved the initial warm up weights.
Not sure if the same steps would apply to you but try to create yourself a path with less resistance to the start of your routine. And allow yourself to not continue if you really don't want to. Even if you end up not feeling like not doing the workout even after staring lets say 50% of the time you will still have worked out more than your current situation
Also get a good grasp on why do you want to lift. Make a list, and hang it in a visible space. Maybe the items in list could be achieved through other means and you just hate lifting. Maybe you are an hiking or crossfit kind of person, no shame in not lifting contrary to what this board will tell you.
What this board is telling you in the thread tho (which is right) is that at some point you really need to do the hard work at some point if you want the results of lifting. And it's hard, you just need to find ways to get better at it.
Sell your shit at a loss. Some of us can use a full home gym with little use and very cheap.
Covid was a blessing.
Wow that’s a pretty cool set up wish I knew someone with one of those to hang out with and lift
