forget forearm pain, why the frick am I getting excruciating left palm pain when doing curls? Feels like someone is slowly pushing in a knife the longer I hold on to the dumbell/barbell while the right palm is COMPLETELY FINE.

I used to get this shit in my left arm (I'm left handed), would feel like my ulnar was about to explode
Literally just stopped doing bicep curls for 3 weeks then started again and the pain never returned
My best bet is it's just some forearm flexor getting irritated while it's already inflamed

    You have tendinitis. It's over.
I would suggest forget about curls, start lube it with ibuprofen, hope on C and V vitamine + collagen, after sharp pain is gone, do some grip strenghtening shit aka deadhangs.

As other have said, tendonitis. It'll never go away if you don't stop to let it heal.

      t. have had the same exact tendonitis for months now because I've continued to lift like a moron

not op but i have what i think is tendonitis on my funny bone. Does the same treatment apply? its only starting to get better after a week resting.

If it's right on your funny bone, it could be tendonitis right on your ulnar/median nerve. In that case it's best to be careful for a fairly long time cause that'll hurt like fricking hell if you keep on aggravating the inflammation.

        t. had this exact issue in both my arms

This is a common issue, I first had it 15 years ago, and yet over these 15 years I've never heard a good explanation of why it happens or how to fix address it. The only advice I used to hear back then was not to grip the bar so hard, but I wasn't even doing that and gripping the bar harder actually caused me less pain.

holy shit I'm not alone with this? I usually do ez bar curls and it's really painful in my left forearm

Take a week or two off so it can heal. Then start training your forearms and grip strength in general.

Damn OP I got the same shit.

Sharp pain on left hand forearm when doing bicep curls. I’m also a pretty newbie. Luckily it’s not unbearable though I just power through it.

By the replies on this thread, it seems like a pretty common thing. Wonder what the reason for it though

Tendonitis never fully goes away. It'll heal 90-95% but will always be there in the background

had the same issue, had hip surgery and was down for a while, it went away. I would say I wasn't doing anything super strenuous for that area for a good 2-3 months or so.

You can try making a wrist roller, they're like $20 to buy on Amazon or about $10 to make one at home depot and try to work it out.

I don't think it's tendonitis like others have said, because mine went away completely and now I do a shit ton of forearm training 6 days a week without it hurting.

I had a problem where the thumb side of my right wrist would hurt when I moved it, then it would feel like it popped and then really fricking hurt. I got that from doing curls. I bought some brace for da quervain tenosynovitis off amazon and wore that for three months before the pain went away. Took another 4 for my thumb to be able to be as flexible as it was before. I'm still too afraid to do curls because I don't know if I just pushed myself too hard or if it was just bad form.

You have tendinitis. Try switching to only hammer curls for a while, it easier on your wrist. If it stays around you’ll prob have go to an physiotherapist. Dry needing worked really well when I had it.
