can you just... stop?
you should be able to if you are below 35 or something
I just stopped for some weeks, and can enjoy some beers here and there now
my brother in Christ I swear weekend drinking in killing my gains, got absolutely wasted last night, ate like the whale now I have the absolute worst hangover and haven’t done shit
Just fucking do it then. You mean cravings can make you take a little drinky against your will? You can't stop yourself from having a little drinky winky? Widdle baby need a drinky winky? Well go on then and have your little drinky winky if you're a thirsty widdle sippy babby.
My hobbies include sim racing and lifting, which you can't do when you're drunk, that's what keeps me off the drink (for now). Find something you love doing that requires you being sober, that worked for me
This year:
I stoped eating junk food
I stoped my shitty sleep schedule
I stoped watching porn
I stoped smoking
I started going to gym 2-3 tymes a week and actually trying
I NEED at least one vice to not hang myself.
What are the protips to be a functional alcoholic?
Do not mix it? Drink watter between sets of 3 beers? excersise before/after? Enough sleep? How will it affect my gains If I get sauced 1.2 or 3 times a week?
>even smoking is a better vice than alcohol
Care to elaborate?
Smoking, unlike alcohol completely drained my stamina, made me smell like shit and made me like 3x times more sick than heavy drinking by itself.
I do miss it tho, it looks cool, its a great social habit and nothing beats that 5 minute smoke break.
I'm a little bit tipsy (mind the t.) so I will not elaborate but I smoked for 8 years, a pack a day, and quit 4 years ago
I have drunk extensively around 2020-2022, did a lot of drinking during 13-20 as well but not as much, and for the last 6 months I've been drinking very, very tiny amounts. of all the things I did right, quitting smoking, starting gym etc, reducing alcohol to very conservative levels was the best thing I did
my mom got lung cancer from smoking and her doctor recommended her to focus on quitting drinking before quitting cigarettes. she didn't quit either and died but the doctor saying that stood out to me
try ground nutmeg 10grams a day. might want bump ot to 20 later on. good antidepressant and feels weedlike. better than booze. you likely need some drug as substitition. drinking sucks and withdrawals are terrible. you might need to take few days off work to not have shakes and palpitations if your everyday drinker. speaking from experience here. good luck.
Naltrexone has been best studied as a treatment for alcoholism.[10] Naltrexone has been shown to decrease the quantity and frequency of ethanol consumption.[14] It does not appear to change the percentage of people drinking.[15] Its overall benefit has been described as "modest".[16]
Acamprosate may work better than naltrexone for eliminating alcohol abuse, while naltrexone may decrease the desire for alcohol to a greater extent.[17]
The Sinclair method is a method involving opiate antagonists such as naltrexone to treat alcoholism. The person takes the medication once, about an hour before consuming alcohol, to curb the urge to drink.[18] The opioid antagonist is thought to block the positive reinforcement effects of alcohol and may assist the person to stop or reduce their drinking.[18]
Just stop.

Alcohol is a shitty vice, man, it fucks up every other area of your life even if you're functional. Better off smoking weed or something.
even smoking is a better vice than alcohol
