Use your hands like hooks (no thumbs, no squeezing the bar) that pull the bar in the direction of your elbows, pull your elbows behind your back. Your hands and elbows should move in a straight line until the bar touches or nearly touches your chest.
use straps and pull down with your elbows. Grip just little futhrer than shoulder width
good. don't let any homosexuals b***h at you about grip strength or other bs. you're a bodybuilder. you want to build your back with this excercise. strap up homie
My trick with most back motions (rows and pulldowns) is instead of mentally pulling the weight toward you, try to push your chest as far forward with each motion.
So don't keep your chest forward statically, but instead focus on that movement of your chest going forward as the weight comes towards you, almost as is you're superman ripping out of your shirt. You should feel it in your back a lot more than bis if you do it right.
Set your shoulders down and to the side before pulling
I have wasted so much time because the popular advice is to pull down and back, or only down. Both are wrong. The shoulders do not go up and down, they do a small arch.
Train the muscle, not the movement. Lower the weight and redo do exercise focusin on the muscle-brain connection. After you get the hang of it, increase the weight. Like, do about 5 reps with 20% of the weight, 5 with 50% and then with 70% and you are good to go.
I only feel triceps
I only ever feel your moms pussy
Pull down from your elbows instead of your wrists
How do you get a good grip just using your elbows, sounds like the bar would slide out of the elbow crease really easily

Good explanation.
I'd also add to just play around w different grips @ a lower weight. I find underhand seems to get my lats more.
awesome joke, you stupid homosexual
you would have raked in updoots on reddit, why are you wasting all of your good material here?
>awesome joke
Thanks!
Act like you're trying to bend the bar in half over your head. Squeeze inward
use straps and pull down with your elbows. Grip just little futhrer than shoulder width
I just bought some straps, thanks.

imagine doing an exercise that was designed as a beginner's women's assist
Repping out 250 close grip lat pulldown did more for my lats than repping pullups with 90lbs
Try pulling with pinky and ring finger and squeezing lats at the end
Just did this yesterday and it feels like I'm sprouting wings so yeah this is just a you problem

Keep in mind advice people give here and spam it with different grips/attachments until you start feeling it. It takes time more than anything.
