I realized people's advice doesn't apply if you're at the very bottom of the barrel.

I realized people's advice doesn't apply if you're at the very bottom of the barrel. Like if you're the auschwitz survivor tier of skinny, you can't gain just 4 pounds per month, even if that's "healthy", because at that pace you'll be still skinny even after a whole year. I can't relate to fatties but I'm sure there's an equivalent of that for them too.

A guy who's 6'0" and 180 pounds, that's the guy people will see potential in, if you're ugly, short or poor, nobody is able to help, nor do they care.

In other words society can only relate to people who pass a certain threshold, everything below that, you're on your own essentially.

    >i've realized that not all advice applies to every single person
    >when people are talking generally and you don't fit the general form, then it doesn't apply to you
good job you've used your brain

You won't be as skinny as you were. That's called progress. Progress is good. You are not competing against somebody else, after a year they look big and you skinny, you are competing against yourself. If you are skinny in a year but have 10lbs more muscle, you have progressed. Simple as.

    >In other words society can only relate to people who pass a certain threshold, everything below that, you're on your own essentially.

    Babies first black pill.

If you're not tall, attractive, female, and so on, yes, you are on your own.

There is. Starving yourself is unhealthy but if you're in the obese range you should just starve until you're like in the middle of the overweight range (25-30 BMI) and then start losing weight in a healthy way. There is no point in worrying about minmaxing your health when you're so big you run out of juice after a minute of walking.

Is this what watching an npc gain sentience for the first time looks like? I mean, good for you OP, but damn.

Yes, every generally-applicable piece of advice about literally everything applies generally, and edge cases at either far end of whatever bell curve is relevant need to self-select and modify their approach accordingly. Welcome to real life.

Genetics plays a massive role in literally everything in life and I don’t mean it in the way zoomers mean when they buzzword genetics. I mean down to pretty much the lift that you respond best to, the reps, the sets, your sleep, the stuff you eat

Listening to anyone for health and fitness advice is practically moronic. Figure out what your body responds to well.

A lot of words that anyone with a brain will interpret as "I'm a lazy piece of shit."
You I work an office job and my boss's boss is 5 foot 3 inches, runs marathons under the company name, has a beautiful wife, and definitely gets paid well. I hope after I've been working as long as him I'll have a similar standing.
I don't know what kind of body you have, but I'd say the main difference between him and you is you're fricking lazy.

you just discovered a fundamental truth about human beings that took me years to understand and hope to teach to my kids as my parents did not : there is no "will", there is no "ultimate solution" when it comes the self. Only through a deep, thorough understanding of you are can you figure out what is best for you.
A lot of shit about normie ranges just work because literally any non optimal method works for anything within the 15 lbs range. Fasting, extra exercise or eating more for a short amount of time won't cause any issue. Doing so to gain/lose 60lbs is another story.
On the other hand if you're a fatso, most overweight people are actually addicted to eating, meaning telling them to put down the fork is like asking a heroin addict to "just stop". And as all addicts, they have behaviors that diverge from the norm. And as all addicts again, few people acknowledge and accept this fact. It personally took me becoming an alcoholic and recognizing that first to be shameless enough to recognize i was addicted to food. Only through that did I lose all the weight i gained and stayed at a healthy weight.
In a nutshell, just like auschwitzers, fat fricks have to understand that their entire relationship towards food is heavily diverging from the norm. You can correct this by having an intuitive understanding of how much calories you're getting inside of you, through rigorously counting them for like a few weeks. Only through intellectualizing can you normalize yourself, since you couldn't do so like most people did.

It's not necessarily laziness. My parents are had lots of preconceived notions about foods. My father would shame me for getting an extra bowl of soup while being completely ok with me getting a second big mac at macdonald's just like he did. My mom would put a shit ton of olive oil for our eggs and tell me to slurp it all up with bread but god forbid if I added an extra egg (we weren't poor so that wasn't the reason).

Do you expect people from the street to come help you get your life together?
Your biggest problem is your inability to accept your own faults and you inaction to address them.

I would appreciate if somebody helped me, yes. I was born into poverty and emotional turmoil, both completely detached from my own actions. I have to somehow climb my way up, but it feels like too much sometimes. Some help would be appreciated. I'm expected to do everything while I was put in the dirt way before I had any say in anything.

I think that’s actually the only time that as a natty someone could do that. It’s typically recommended people bulk at a rate of 1-2lbs per month. As a complete skeleton with barely any body fat you’ll likely gain more half assing lifting if you’re calories are on point.

I don't know what thought has driven you to create this thread, but yes, you are right.
Is this just a personal epiphany about common rules and generalisation in life? Does it apply to you?
Believe it or not - unless you are a genuine genetic freak, your comfort weight and body composition is roughly in the same range as for everyone else, aside from height. Whatever you have currently is then a result of your personal routines and nutrition.
If you are currently extremely skinny, rejoice: even relatively minimal stimulation and moderate amounts of food consumption will improve your overall fitness.
