nta, but it really is. Also it's in its own oil, so no seed oils needed.

Why the frick does anybody here eat TOMATOED RAW deenz? Tomato sauce on deenz is disgusting. It is perhaps even worse than putting catsup on salmon, because at least the catsup and the fish are fresh (this combination is still atrocious, do not try it.)

For deenz, just eat them straight-up-- or, perhaps with a speckling of salt, and a wholesome amount of either black pepper or lemon.

      Will try this.

This one is great. Tastes like liver pate (duh). Very creamy. It doesn't have significant amount of protein, but healthy fats. I used to eat this shit twice a week for a month and my hair, nails and skin looked much better.

I wish i could enjoy canned seafood. best i can do is buy some decent canned tuna and make a tuna salad out of it but even that is not very enjoyable. tried some canned oysters for the first time the other day and the aftertaste was miserable and it got worse the more i ate

I eat canned sardines in tomato sauce, cold, straight out of the can.

They are the cheapest canned fish, ridiculously high in protein and don't taste too fishy.

Also, they are a lot less polluted with heavy metals compared to bigger fish such as tuna.

Added benefit, my cats love them too

Just make sure to get them in water or olive oil, no cheap seed oils

Tinned fish needs a bit of acid, heat and a bit of extra salt to really make it sing (especially if its oily, either naturally or if its canned in oil). Deens with a bit of lemon juice and jalapeños is brilliant. I've been getting tinned salmon in brine, mixing it with a bit of mayo and a load of siracha and then sometimes a bit of tabasco on top.

Mackerel is really good too, usually get that in tomato sauce and have it on toast.

Canned fish is submitted to processes that may degrade its lipids and form harmful compounds called cholesterol oxidation products (COPs). Samples of Brazilian commercial canned tuna were analyzed to evaluate the influence of different liquid mediums (oil and brine) on the fatty acid composition and formation of COPs. The exchange between fish lipids and the constituents of the covering liquid was highlighted by the high levels of linoleic acid found in tuna conserved in oil. High amounts of COPs were found. However, higher contents of COPs were found in tuna in brine (933.14 to 1914.23 µg/g) than in oil (698.24 to 1167.88 µg/g). This result was mainly promoted by the presence of pro-oxidant elements such as salt, as well as greater heat transfer in brine than in oil. This study showed that canned tuna is a potential source of exogenous COPs, indicating the role of liquid mediums in oxidative processes.

    Somebody redpill me on deenz.
I love canned tuna but with deenz I’m afraid of overly fishyness, small bones, fish heads etc.
Is there a good proper boneless brand in Canada that is actually any good.
I really want to take the deenz pill but lack the knowledge.
    Help an anon out.

I posted the Jalapeño Smoked Clover Leaf brand above, it's available in Canada and is great! You open a can and you get two large fillets (80 percent of the time, sometimes a few other pieces to fill the can), and you can see the spices on top of them. I like to use my finger or spoon to spread the seasoning overtop of it. My secret is to open it partway, drain the oil completely, then pull it off, spread it, and chow down. Very few bones! I hardly get them, and if you put them on some crackers it's very nice as well.

See the very few bones thing really throws me off.I mean if they’re visible I can pick them out but really not a fan.
Is this avoidable at all depending on brand?
Big thanks for the all the info.

I find the bones are generally not in the meat, more like you can see the spine or ridge the bones attach to and pluck it off.
Caveat though, I really don't mind the bones or notice them so I might be missing something that would turn you off. But I really don't see much in the way of bones in clover leaf

The bones are there but you'd hardly notice them. You're eating a tin of sardines, not because you like it but because you know you need to. Shut your eyes and down them.

            Cheers.
I’m buying a tin of each one tomorrow and will give it a go.
            Thanks again!
