I think I just finally set the seated leg curl up right for the first time in my life. I think people hate on it because most people can't set it up right. I don't blame them there's like 4 different adjustables on it but fuk that hit my legs hard

My gym has a seated where there's no pad to luck in your upper legs, neither is there something to push your hands against to push yourself into the seat - only handles to hold yourself at the bottom
It's one of those seated leg curl + leg extension combined machines, terrible fricking design. You simply can't go heavy on it

Pic related, 2k for a machine with a major design flaw

What part of your leg is in contact with the weight ?
Could this be replicated with a barbell if I put if I hook it with my feet onto my ankles ?

No part is in contact with the weight as the weight is contained in the tower

The lower lever is behind your ankles

              oh you're pushing down
              I thought you pushed up
Deadlifts and front squats work those same muscles right ?

pushing up from the bottom position is a leg extension, it's basically the opposite exercise

leg curls isolate the hamstrings, leg extensions isolate the quads. Deadlifts and front squats are compounds which involved those muscles too, yea

can I do leg extensions with a barbell then ?

I guess, but it's probably not comfortable unless you use light weight. Also you have very low resistance at the bottom.
So I don't really see the point

Yeah put the barbell on your shoulders like a squat then keeping your upper body stiff bend 90 degrees at the knee

                VERY FUNNY
I don't think it's the same muscles as a squat tho

Squat works the same muscles and then some.. leg extension is an accessory exercise to the squat. You can't replace squats with leg extension, but can surely replace leg extension with a squatting type exercise.
