I took magic mushrooms two years ago in 2021 and during a trip I developed a very strong urge to run and lift weights.
2021 was the year I made the most progress. The feeling wore off in 2022 and I failed to hit my goals that year because I didn't push myself as hard as I did in 2021.
I had another good shroom trip a week ago and that extra motivation has returned. I don't know how long this will last this time around though.
Is there a way I can consistently reproduce this?
I feel like the mushrooms give me access to a hidden extra gear I can't otherwise reach.

I can't offer you any advice. But I took a shit load of acid one time and lost 40kg in under a year

Did you feel like you had unlocked an extra gear too?
I've heard a few stories about people losing a lot of weight after a psychedelic experience.

Relying on drugs to do something that millions of people have the motivation to do with a normal willpower... Something is wrong bro.
Stay away from the drugs else you become a junkie.

we all got a different neurological roll of the dice. if you can do it without support, great. but no one is harmed by anon using mushrooms once a year

He's right though. Comparing psilocybin to hard drugs is as stupid as comparing protein powder to steroids

you are not supposed to operate on a extra hidden gear. Being in elevated states is not the normal state of humans so dont expect to be in one all the time. And if you feel like you have to rely on them you are not going to make it. "i did X and now feel amazing how can i feel like that all the time?" You cant.

The year 2021 was the year you made the most progress? Of course because that is the first you trained and that is when people make the most progress and that is what we call newbie gains.

I don't smoke and hate any form of stoner or new age culture.
Cokeheads or party-pill poppers are scum, I don't even drink coffee.
That being said, shrooms are different. They seem to be able to have many benefits, basically what

Psilocybin leads to neurogenesis. New neural pathways are formed and you begin to perceive and think about stuff in different ways than you used to. But if these newly created neural pathways aren't used very often after you had the trip, your brain gradually diverts back to its old ways.

If you want the effects to stick forever, you have to spend a lot of time while you are sober on introspection and the things you learned. When it comes to your brain and neural pathways, you either use it or lose it

is talking about. There are some theories regarding synesthesia and the appparition of speech, for instance

That would be like saying that since being medicated is not a normal state of being, you should never take antibiotics. Discipline still rules all, though

        >party-pill poppers are scum, I don't even drink coffee.
mdma falls into this weird category where it is both abused by party-goers and has a lot of potential to treat depression and ptsd, as shown by a lot of recent international medical trials.

party-goers who are taking colored mystery pills with mega doses are obviously abusing it and harming themselves. but therapeutic use has been on the rise for the past 5-10 years. it puts the user in such a state of bliss that they are able to confront their inner demons and deal with them without having an emotional breakdown. i know very functional people who have said that it's like an antidepressant that they only have to take once per year

The problem is you're relying on motivation.

Motivation is usually short term and fleeting, Discipline is what will carry you forward and help you progress, The days you don't feel like it, feel lazy, the days you don't care and want to give up but do it anyway because you do it for a reason.

If you want to take drugs, that's up to you, but don't expect a bit of fungus that grows in shit to solve your problems, take some fucking responsibility for your life and reaching your goals.

It can give you only temporary motivation or "the kiss of a muse" feeling. It will last but not forever and there will be a moment when the trip will bring you nothing but horrors and you will never be the same.

A lot of anons make good points above, but have you considered the possibility you are/were depressed?

Maybe reach out to a therapist. I don't think a yearly trip is a bad idea though.

Go to therapy. Shrooms are stripping your ego and allowing you to see yourself objectively. Objectively your life is ass (99.99% are pretty bad dont worry) which motivates you to make improvements. Therapy is different, tries to expose your insecurities so you can consciously deal with them.

The answer you seek is meditation and focused mindfulness. It's easy to begin, but like working out, having the discipline to continuously do it is difficult. The payoff is that it will grow your discipline in ways you would have never imagined. What you experienced is akin to someone who has mastered mindfulness. In a way it's like a cheat code for the end results but the tradeoff is that you can't just do it at will or have it be consistent.

Each person unlocks their mindfulness potential in different ways and although you can be taught the basics, you have to do massive introspection to master it (which entirely subjective for each person.)

I for one, madidate best while walking. Not very fast, just consistently. It usually takes a half hour just to get into the right headspace.

    Good luck anon.
