    >being a pro boxer
    >starting at 18

You'll be a "pro" in the sense that you paid 1000 bucks for a pro application (no requirements, just pay up).
Your actual "career" will involve you being paid 50$ as an opener match against some nonamer and you end up paying 4000$ for hotel+travel+training+medical fees.

    First of all
Reconsider, boxing is an extremely short lived career, you're 18, young and moronic. You're likely to permanently frick you up, and not in a fun way.
besides that, if you love the brain damage, lack of money (you're not going to earn at first) and relentless training.
First piece of advice is to get your life in order. Get your education secured and planned tightly, your life itself is going to be rocky, you don't want to be a dropout, even if you spend all your time training, there's areas of life that will hit you hard in the ass. Education, future planning, college and discuss with your parents. Chances are your interests will shift, 18 year olds are not known to make the best decision choices, so don't try to be a hero.
Regarding training, its obvious, eat well, sleep well, do your rounds properly, this is your fun part. I've done this for 4 years, I made the mistake of thinking I was invincible, but then realized that I did not want to do this forever, severe back injuries, eye problems, a jaw that clacks when I eat from the left side. This isn't meant to be discouraging, but the life isn't that fun after a while, but I don't know you, maybe you're the next Ali. Best of luck if you decide to pick this path, life and career problems hit harder bro. Protip, choose women carefully too

Look man, don't get discouraged. Lots of worthwhile things than boxing too, just the fact you're lifting for 3 years is good. Keep going with boxing, these are the realities of it, if you get into it and still want to keep going, then you'll get to design your life around it. 18 is very young, keep trying new things, don't limit yourself to one form of brain damage. All that aside, focus on education, you'll realize how much money and proper titles matter in life. I tell you this because I wish someone told this to me back then.

I didnt think it was from boxing i thought it was just genetic or something

With you, if you havent been hit or anything, it could be muscle imbalance or problem with the bone, can you open your mouth properly without issue.

Try joining your local boxing gym first to see if it fits you, remember that Francis Ngannou boxed for only a year at 22 and then quit until 26, and now he is training with Mike Tyson himself, don't give up and stop going on this demotivation shitjole anymore

boxing is all about stamina, speed and how well you can take a punch. means you gotta get into fights and spar, start with some homeless, junkies, cripples, then move up to drunks, teens partying, once you ready challenge some football players

Best get to doing cardio son.

I only know one serious boxer, who kind of just does it as a "pro" for fun or as a hobby, since hes just into it, and from what I know, boxers are basically cardio gods. Pretty much all fighters are.

Practical strength is important, but actual fights gas you so fricking fast. Pretty much every fighter, in any martial art or MMA roons constantly, hits the rowing machine daily, and even sometimes swim. Punching hard comes more from understanding body mechanics, and how to actually punch, and timing, more than your ability to lift weights.

Start training asap. Boxing is the best sport I've ever tried. You're young you could have a shot at least of a successful amateur career. I'm about to age into the masters amateur category 35+ and im just starting boxing in the last 4 months. It's my biggest regret I didn't start at a young age. These morons in the thread don't get it.
