But that’s because I’m at the top 15% of society in fitness, health, intelligence, finances, and lifestyle so I don’t want those who are dumb, weak, fat, and poor making decisions that affect my life because I know I make better ones myself. Horses were consumed in North Europe in the past but for the precise reasons you mentioned this was rare, and only in connection with a blot or a sacrifice to the gods. With christianization this meant horse sacrifices stopped and horse meat aquired the taboo that is still active today.

Injury part is true but getting too old isnt, meat from elderly animals tastes like shit and is only eaten when food is scarce or in the rare cases where a barn animal is allowed to grow old like a breeding rooster in which you have to really slow cook the meat for it to be edible.

I am not certain about this but I believe the reason for ban is that you dont get to eat horses made and grown for consumption, instead in time market would likely start getting meat mixed up coming from drugged out race horses getting salvaged for extra cash. Youd need to make checks and controls and inspections and a lot more, all for having horse livestock farms that would be a lot more expensive to operate anyway so why bother not just banning them all

People used to do it back in the day when horses were ubiquitous but it probably got a reputation as a poorgay thing because you would only eat a horse that was no longer useful as a working animal so it has a thrifty vibe to it. Rendering old horses into glue or fertilizer is the dignified option, apparently.

      >cow
I feel bad having seen how affectionate they can be to humans but I still eat it
      >chicken
Idgaf. Someone’s lost chicken wandered into my yard and became our pet and I’ll steal eat them, btw my neighbor ate it to prove a point that didn’t exist over an issue he made up (pissy fat old guy who’s called the city on me for having grass grow 1” past city guidelines while I was recovering from surgery, his rat dog gets loose constantly and almost gets run over, he did it just to be a dick his daughter confirmed this, gonna shit on his doorstep before I move)
      >other bird
Don’t care. I like parrots, birds of prey, and corvids. Hate ducks. That same neighbor I mentioned feeds the wild ducks so the neighborhood is overrun with hundreds and they keep nesting in front of my house. If shit hits the fan I’m gonna eat them and I hope he sees. Easy to catch, easier to kill with a rock.
      >horse
Hate horses. They kick and bite. I genuinely dislike how dangerous they are. They get annoyed or spooked and their first instinct is to kill. They’re not kind loving and affectionate or intelligent animals like people think. They’re buttholes made to carry us and our shit.
      >pigs
I don’t eat pork often, I like pigs and I think pork is gross they’re dirty animals.
      >goat
I feel shitty about this because I love goats but they taste so good. I don’t think I could slaughter my own goat to eat.
      >fish
I’ll eat the frick out of some fish
      >deer
      Don’t give a shit

If you very have trouble with eating an animal just remember that if they had the means to kill and eat us, every single animal would except dogs, even a dog will wait until it’s about to die before it’s instincts take over and it eats a dead human. No other animal thinks about these things ethically other than people and (arguable I’m sure) dogs. Whales too tbh, they could kill humans easily yet in the wild they’re pretty careful not to which implies they have some sense of ethics for us.

It’s not immoral. It is the place of domesticated herd animals to be bred, shepherded, and eaten. It is the place of mankind to breed, shepherd, and to eat. In the carrying out of this process, nothing about it is immoral so long as the animal is treated with an achievable level of respect. The issue with eating horses is that it is like transporting manure in a Lamborghini. It is tremendously inefficient for no tangible benefit and therefore unnecessarily harmful and cruel.

No one would say an anteater is immoral for eating ants.

Eating carnivores is stupid. You concentrate minerals and vitamins as you ascend trophic levels to the point where they can be toxic. For example polar bears eat the carnivores of other carnivores so they’ve evolved to handle the toxic vitamin A load. Dogs and cats are also incredibly inefficient as a food source and tastes like shit compared to beef which you basically just have to leave in a field and will give you a quarter ton of meat in a year or two. We also evolved alongside dogs and cats to form symbiotic relationships. There is nothing smart about eating dogs and cats, but chinks are pants on head moronic so of course they do it. It’s hard to blame them when they’ve been starving for 70 years because of their shit government though.

I've eaten horse before. It's sold in the fanciest market in my city. It's more expensive than beef.
It's like beef but redder, very lean, almost no fat. I don't really see the appeal other than just to try it once or twice.
It'd probably be nice for a stew.

horse meat is fricking delicious. the only people worse than vegans are meat eaters who lose their gourd when you eat the 'wrong' meat because such and such an animal is 'cute' or whatever. it's pretty much exclusively women who do this btw

Yes? What’s your point? I worship the Heavenly Father, who sent his only Son to die in the most painful and shameful way. That’s literally the entire point of the gospel, proving how rotten Israel and indeed humanity was, that if a guiltless divine man was before them they would kill him anyways. Then they would brutally persecute his followers. I just don’t understand why people say this like it’s some insightful criticism and not just blatantly seething by comparing Jesus to modern israelites whose name comes from their refusal to write plus signs because they reject and hate both Christ and Christians so much.

      >American myths
Some pope made a law you couldn't eat horses during the crusades because they were used for riding. That's it. There is no food taboo against eating anything (except food sacrificed to pagan idols) in Christianity.

      See:

Pope Gregorius the Third anathemized the consumption of horse meat in a papal bull refering to the Vandals released in 732, way before the Crusades, with the only reason cited being that it was "abominable and filthy". The pagan Germanics only ate horse meat as sacrificed meat, it's was the exact same thing. Besides, the Pope has the right to bind and loose. This is objectively where the taboo came from. You are a moronic Black person.

exotic like how horse meat is, it's typically not eaten in the west. Any animal that is not typically eaten in a culture would be considered an exotic food to that culture, even if that animal lives in their area. even on here I made a comment about raising and eating rabbits in a prepping general and the negative comments I got were ridiculous, and not about how rabbit is too lean and you can get protein poisoning if you eat nothing but rabbit with no extra fat sources thrown in, it was muh feelings, muh cute pet etc.

      Same anon.
Also snake, alligator and doves(specially bred to be slaughtered not the flying rats you see in every city).
The only meat I would stay away is primate meat because of cross specie illness and diseases that can kill you(look at ebola).

Here in south br (Texas basically)
Thieves kill cows and horses at night. They have to do everything fast, so they get the best cuts. Curiously, the main cut is the horse neck and back legs. They remove all the back muscles from the neck and leave a bizarre sight behind. Is is called "abigeato de cavalo", Google it

In Japan it's considered a delicacy. Called basashi and usually eaten like sushi or sashimi.
Some of the cuts are fantastic, there is a really rubbery cut that comes from behind the neck which is hard to understand.
They also do raw horse lover which rated like iron flavored jello.
It's supposed to be Samurai did and give you horsepower down there. Seemed to work tbqf

Is this really starting to be taboo in France now? In Canada we ate these no problem when I was a kid. Haven’t had it in years though.

Dutchgay here, only after I travelled abroad at age 16-18 did I learn that horsemeat is considered a weird food. I grew up eating smoked horsemeat every other few days.
It's for sale in nearly every supermarket, not just some niche butchershops or something

I eat bison, elk, deer, wild boar, the domesticated stuff like chicken, pigs and beef. My local butcher has some gator meat and some other stuff I'd like to try. I'd probably eat horse. I don't like veal, but that was more a texture thing than a baby cow aversion.

Horses have a lot more consciousness than other meat animals.
Though honestly cows and pigs have a good amount too.
Rabbits are just soulless prey, chickens and ducks are too entertaining to want to eat.

I find that only psychopaths care about the consumption of horse meat. I don't care about the opinions of those who are trying to control me.
The only animals I wouldn't eat are dogs and cats, as they're our companions. Horses have long been consumed.

Companion animals like horses, cats, and dogs aren't commonly eaten since it is usually a sign of desperation for one thing, then people have emotional attachments to them, and then most importantly these animals have a type of purpose for being kept around to an extent.

    >Horses can be used for travel
    >Cats can catch rodents(though this isnt often as needed anymore)
    >Dogs can offer some protection or at least security against intruders, or predators preying on farm animals

So eating one of these is something akin to smashing your window because youre bored when you can just use some old glass bottles instead that were going to be trashed anyways. I guess that practicality eventually moved on to emotional attachments nowadays

If it's bred to be eaten, that's cool.
I don't want to eat some used up racehorse or show-horse though. Those animals are radioactive.

Fun fact: Horse meat is haram, that's why he gets problems. Whites eat horse meat just fine, several Euro delicacies like Sauerbraten in Germany or Salami in Italian were originally made with horse meat.

horse meat is fricking delicious. the only people worse than vegans are meat eaters who lose their gourd when you eat the 'wrong' meat because such and such an animal is 'cute' or whatever. it's pretty much exclusively women who do this btw

In Finland this stuff is eaten daily by a shitton of people and I'm sure the same goes for the rest of the Nordic countries.
It's not pure horse meat but a bit of a mix of things and calorie dense as hell.
No one specifically breeds horses for meat though.
It's all just old workhorses and the like that get sent to the slaughterhouse.
