Classical statues were completely painted, weren't they?
Yes. Can only image how they must've looked.
Yeah it'd probably be surreal to walk up to statues that look like giant realistic humans.
Most greek statues have been found to be covered in ancient cum
Greek statues were, but statues that came from the renaissance were just stone because the artists were inspired by Greek statues that had their paint washed away from erosion.
We can't tell if all, but some absoulutely were, though the barest microscopic pigments that we have left are bright and garrish, this is simply the base layer underneath what would presumably be severaly layers of shading and washes to achive a more natural look while still being colourful, while the stone statues were painted it's less likly that the bronze statues were painted so often, but rather, were polished and treated to shine in the mediterainian sun. There were also statues, leaving off from the typical Greco-Roman, that were monochrome or natural rock to achive a certian aesthetic, such as many Egyptian granite statues(you now also remember that the Pyramids were white limestone with gold caps). Although don't think that all statuary was designed with photorealism in mind, the romans practiced a hyper-realism where while being photorealistic they were exaggerated in a "warts and all" way, emphasising wrinkles and blemishes, prominent features and weathering, while later dominate period sculptures blur the line between secular ruggedness and religious perfectionism, the Gods are never carved ugly, even crippled Haephestus. Remember anons, when making gains to cultivate personal beauty, remember to observe what beauty we can find in the world around us.
There's litterally a greek myth about a dude cooming on a sature of Aphrodite(?) and then offing himself for sacrilige, so somone somewhere must have cranked it to a statue
okay sure
does your body look like that?
Me lift cow and drink cow milk. Me get strong
greek statue posters are by far the most autistic subhuman animals on IST
>people inspired by the ancient Greeks(and to lesser extent romans/renaissance thinkers) are the biggest subhumans on a board filled with doomers, roidtroonys, lookismgays and “architects”
Okay homosexual. Just fricking rope already you pathetic cucks.
im literally an italian and youre a fricking autist
So a roidtroony it is.
I'm Greek and you're new.
Yeah, and everything Herodotus said was true
homosexuals didn’t even take a single history class in college and LARP about muh Greeks muh stoicism muh renaissance muh enlightenment
Counterargument: theoretically, if there's lost ancient technology which built monuments such as the pyramids, theres probably lost ancient anabolic steroids also
>pbuh
what does that mean. put butt under him?
And John Henry could hammer a railroad spike in one strike. You homosexuals are so dumb
I'd trust the word of a Greek over the word of a Black
yeah but only one has overcome the assurance of industrial steel.
