As someone who went to US for an exchange student program, I remember they putting a lot of fruits into their rice. I was flabbergasted, it tastes horrible. >carbs are the devil now
It's always like that. They always went to the extreme for everything.
>US for an exchange student program, I remember they putting a lot of fruits into their rice.
what the frick are you on about. no examples, not even posting the area you went to. don't just lie because you're trapped in a third world country
This, only actual rice with fruit is rice with raisins and sweet milk and that's a mexican dish, very tasty and can be used as a bulking dessert if done right
Modern nutritional science reccomends a varied diet with nutrient rich carbohydrates and healthy unsaturated fats, which traditional asian food undoubtedly has.
And no, calling it ~~*science*~~ doesn't give ketolards a leg to stand on.
Obesity rates are increasing in China. People are shamed in Japan for being fat. The Japanese however are generally smaller people in general. Food scarcity was a problem in Asia for quite a few decadees. China had a big famine under Mao and much of the Asian population was still subsistence farmers during that time; they could only eat what they could get and had to work all day. That's where there skinny asian stereotype comes from. However, being skinny was always seen as an appeal for women within Asia so many Asian women don't eat very much. It's literally CICO.
>nutrient rich carbohydrates
White rice and the typical grains people eat around the world are not nutrient rich. As a matter of fact, carbs and grains in general are not nutrient rich. Meat, Fruits, Vegetables, and Eggs tend to be the nutrient rich foods. The grains and seed typical referred to as carbs are not rich in nutrients, especially not white rice. At best it's just a fuel source. >healthy unsaturated fats
Unsaturated fats are quite unhealthy. Obesity in the west is connected to Omega 6 fatty acids and excesses in mono and polyunsaturated fats since that is where much of the excess calories in western diets come from.
>Obesity rates are increasing in China
It's because of one child policy anon. When they only allowed to have one child per couple their child became their priority numero uno. This means pampering the kid and fed him/her everything the kid want. >People are shamed in Japan for being fat
More like they actually know that fat isn't healthy. They care so much every citizen get a mandated health check up at 40.
>It's because of one child policy anon
No. It's because they're eating more. >This means pampering the kid and fed him/her everything the kid want.
It doesn't.
>Obesity rates are increasing in China
yes because people are eating western junk food and tons of desserts, coupled with sedentary lifestyle
it's actually amazing to look at Asian women: many women in their 30s or even 40s are slimmer than those in their teens
perfect examples that it's not the genes but diet + lifestyle
Love how people here never lived in Asia and act as if they knew shit. I literally ate rice 4-5 times a day in Asia while living there and lost 4 kilos. They eat rice, meat, and veggies all the time and way less processed foods.
>According to the International Diabetes Federation, in 2022, 26.7% of adults in Pakistan are affected by diabetes making the total number of cases approximately 33,000,000
Fricking HOW?! Are these Pakis just eating sugar by the bag?
>asians barely eat rice
sometimes Im still surprised how moronic people on this website are
It is pretty clear you people never been to China. Or only the poor parts. They eat mostly fish/meats with vegs dishes and a bowl of rice maybe, females most often don't or very little.
>fatty meat and barely eat carbs and grains anymore.
i live in japan RIGHT NOW and this couldnt be further from the truth, japs eat so much rice its unreal
What you eat and how much is important, but I think the difference is exercise. I ate and drank a lot of sugary stuff every day and still lost weight due to having to walk everywhere.
hyperpalatable food is fattening, and that largely comes from added oil and sugar
when you look at a vegetable, you see 100g of it is worth 60 calories, that kind of food is always health-promoting
but you go to the middle of the store and you find some slop that's 800 calories for 100g, and you WILL get fat off eating that food regularly, because it's designed to increase your appetite
They wash the rice, their rice has a lower glycemic index and they eat with chopsticks that slow the pace of eating and make them eat less. They also eat shitton of organs and fish
Not America, but Northern Europe and no, we don't really wash our rice. I remember a Japanese transfer student seeing our campus cafeteria rice and not believing what she was.
Did she peel every individual grape she ate as well? They do that, you know. I wash rice heavily thoughbeit because I don't ~~*trust*~~ the ~~*(science*~~.
>Did she peel every individual grape she ate as well? They do that, you know
Lol, didn't see her eating grapes, but guess it makes sense if you're afraid of pesticides and grapes shipped to Japan probably have tons of them on them. I just rinse them quickly like I sometimes do rice. At my school weeb club we once made "real Japanese style rice" and it had to be washed until the water was perfectly clear and it took like an hour of tedious handwork. She didn't seem to enjoy our coffee either.
>At my school weeb club we once made "real Japanese style rice" and it had to be washed until the water was perfectly clear and it took like an hour of tedious handwork.
No one in Japan washes their rice until the water is clear lol. That's some meme that spread from sushi autists.
That's cause they don't know grapes in west are different. You have to peel jap grapes because they're moronic with thick skin that would be hard on your stomach if you are it.
Im european and wash my rice depending on the type of rice.
I wash unpolished rice just for two rinses max. Runs clear almost immerdiately.
I was polished rice properly. Just gotta do.
I dont really wash parboiled, one rinse, it basically has been washed. Also you'd never know when you're done.
Americans tend to eat a medium to long grain rice that's completely different than shorter grains eaten in Asian countries. You don't have to rinse it because it's way less glutinous.
If I was cooking an imported rice or Calrose I'd rinse it. But for the regular every day rice I never have.
The organs is a huge thing. I’m a huge fan of this guy on YouTube, Masaru, he fillets fish n animals and always eats the organs. He doesn’t season his food right imo, but he’s always eating liver and intestines. They dont believe in wasting over there, the organs are edible and a great source of vitamins
It's really a lot simpler than all the replies make it seem: they eat fewer calories than they burn, and being fat has huge social stigmas attached to it (this is a good thing).
Portion sizes in Japan are significantly smaller than anything you'd see in the west. Picrel is just one example - they think adding an extra 150ml to a regular soda can is worthy of bragging about when the average American considers that too little sodie-pop for a single meal.
When I was traveling there I was absolutely pigging out on every restaurant I could find but I still ended up losing weight because they weren't packing as many calories into their food as possible.
>NPC becomes sentient
Welcome to the rice paddy of the real. Carbs are healthy here. Enjoy a cheap and nourishing diet based on starchy staple crops. You can still have animal foods in moderation.
I think it's more because of probability, there's over a billion of them and unlike China they're more open and Anglo speaking so you're more likely to actually hear about cases
because they don't eat any fat, most of all seed oils
there is two ways to go, very low fat, or if you eat fat, high stearic acis like butter, cream, cheese etc. That's why both asians and the french are thin despite very different diets
Congrats on correctly identifying stearic acid as a "safe" fat and not just saying "animal fats" or "saturated fats". You can also eat fats from minimally processed sources that are predominantly oleic acid like evoo (meat also contains substantial oleic acid).
Since i learned about this i'm maintaining while stuffing my face with pasta, cream, butter, lean meat, sugar, cake, ice cream and my libido is through the roof. I have been eating like this for a year and i haven't gained a kilo
Mongoloids also thrive off eating nothing but seals. I am not a mongoloid so I can't take any of it seriously I just think "neat that looks like star wars"
china has more diabetes than the US with a fraction of the obesity. asians genetically might have a lower fat threshold before they store fat viscerally and start to get metabolic issues
fat makes you fat simple as. once theycstarted shilling healthy fats and fructose (turns into fat) intake increased people become increasingly obese. hunter gatherers eat little fat too. wild animals are lean. leaner than lean people as human have rather high bodyfat way higher than chimps or horses.
Rice is like 98% water, literally impossible to get fat off. When people say carbs are bad they are talking about doughs, breads, and pastas which are in abundance in every American diet. You don't see Americans eating a shit load of rice, you see them eating a shit load of mac n cheese though.
they put butter on bread, add fat to potatoes, fry carbs on fat, use salad "dressing" which is fricking fat that turns healthy food into poison. oh and chocolate is fatty as shit too and fructose is way different (worse) from glucose.
That is true, but carbs are also pretty fast burning. If I eat rice I will only be full for an hour or so before I am hungry. If I eat protein or fat, I am fuller much longer.
This. Americans think food needs to taste good, and that's the problem, they get addicted to it, food is the way you get nutrients, of course you are going to favor the food that fit your tastebuds better but not evrything needs to be deepfried or covered in sugar to be edible and do its job of fueling you
>Delicious (less processed) meals >Walk everywhere >Use their brain (20% of your daily calories btw) >Good quality food doesn't cost an arm and a leg like the bs we get in America and Europe
They eat smaller portions
They don’t eat a lot of sugar traditionally
They usually walk or cycle everywhere
They regularly consume foods that support healthy metabolism like green tea and fermented foods
They actively fat shame
Americans had to come up with different words so they can make their portions "venti". Small portions are completely alien to them. Americans need to coat their "salads" with sugary dresses that actually ruins otherwise healthy food. They refuse to walk and keep building suburbian hellscapes because taking some steps to get anywhere is too much effort. And the top of the cake, their women are fat activists and chill body positive while actively shaming thin people.
And whatever insignificant favela country you're from exists exclusively at the pleasure of the US Army Missile Command. Never forget your place monkeyboy.
>they don’t eat a lot of sugar
Yeah this is bullshit. Go watch Thai, Japanese and Korean cooking videos on YouTube. I was actually shocked at the amount of rice and sugar. Can’t figure out how they’re not all diabetic and fat.
Because they’re a very weak people with tiny bone structures. It’s easy to look slim when you’re skeletal structure is half the width of any other race
>More than 10 million Japanese people were “strongly suspected to have diabetes” as of 2016, according to a survey on national health and nutrition conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare.
doesnt seem to be working too well
Diabetes is your body struggling to use the food you give it. Fat people tend to have it because they fill up their fat cells and there is nowhere left for the glucose to go, so it stays in the blood. Skinny people who don't store fat well, like Asians, are susceptible to diabetes because their bodies cannot handle high calorie diets. If your body has nothing to do with the glucose it will just sit in your blood and make you diabetic.
It's also genetics. Asians genetically don't store a lot of fat. When your body doesn't store fat easily you lose your appetite and stop eating. As a fella with Northern European genetics I can put down food like there is no tomorrow and store a shit ton of fat. Skinny people don't have that tendency and feel sick if they try to eat that much.
You can also be morbidly obese and have no diabetes or any issues with insulin resistance. As a matter of fact, the 600+ lb lards who get that big tend not to have diabetes. The efficiency with which they store energy is what allows them to keep gaining weight.
I don't know WTF sumo wrestlers are. I do know that they got whooped when Eddie Hall wrestled them without any experience. I think it's kind of a meme sport like Aikido.
Sumo depending on the rules is either dependant on size or technique. They got 180lbers going up 300lb in the fricking east and even wrestling ain't that stupid to do no weight classes
it's pretty much impossible to get fat eating rice. 1/3ciup becomes 1 cup cooked - you can't really eat much more than that without being physically in pain
Vietnamese here. There are more and more fat people in Vietnam. And there are also more and more fit people. Thanks to the abundance of foods and social media.
You can easily get fat with rice and noodles just like any other food.
I think what really keeps Vietnamese less obese than Americans is that we publicly fat shame all the time. It's social pressure that keep people thin, not the food or walking. Vietnamese, actually, walk even less than Americans.
>we publicly fat shame all the time
You should keep this going. Obesity in a former non-obese country is a sign that american goyslop corporations are setting base in your town and one way to counter their impact is shame people stupid enough to eat there.
You homosexuals are aware that genetics also play a role on developing betus 2 and isn't 100% environnement, right? Sure habbits are essential but aren't the only thing that matters.
There are families where everyone has betus 2 while there are others with obesity and no member has it. People with good genetics can be fat, eat nothing but sugar and will never have insulin issues. There are also individuals with incredibly fricked up type 2 genetics that develop it on their 20s while being slim.
Race also plays an important factor. Asians, and more specifically native Americans, are more prone to have diabetes 2 than Europeans and Africans.
White here who moved to asia for 2 years of college and got fit there, now back in the states continuing my fit journey.
Basically what happens is that white rice fills you up like crazy. Combine that with a humid/muggy environment, and lots of walking everywhere and smaller portions of food, and the weight will just melt off your body.
I've continued eating tons of rice since I've been back in the states, and it's fine. You just need to do a lot of cardio.
My point is that white rice is filling, so you still eat less calories. Combine that with tons of cardio, and it's easy to see why asians are thin. Nice try at being intentionally obtuse, though
Kek looks like the bug people buried into his brain and put holes in it.
I don't go on pol kek. Keep seething at my truth speak. Also your filling argument is wrong. Protein is more filling. Go troll somewhere else with your fake science Xiang Ivan Shmooly Goldstein.
Black person I eat cake every day and I'm 150lbs. Eating at maintenance or deficit is super easy no matter what you eat so idk what fatgays' problem is.
Instead of white rice or whatever simple carb pre/post workout, why not just mix a half cup or cup of white sugar in water and drink? What's the difference? Serious question btw
I have a qt young (legal) Japanese gf and been to Japan so I think I have some expertise in this area. The main reason is because food in Asia, especially in Korea or Japan, are more nutrition-rich and better quality than in corporate America where profit and $$ takes hold over health and quality of foods. In USA, bread is filled with sugar and seed oils, and rice is packed with GMO-ridden cancer garbage. In Japan, the meat and vegetables are fresh, healthy and taste so much better because over there, consumers aren't treated like moronic cattle
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills reading this thread because I've spent a fair bit of time in Japan and what I see is more like >packed convenience stores everywhere full of junk food, entire aisles of confectionary and baked goods >vending machines everywhere full of sugary drinks >bakeries everywhere, everyone loads up their trays with multiple pastries >cafes are super popular specifically for desserts like fancy parfaits, pancakes etc >massive portions at most restaurants, especially for ramen >they don't seem to have any understanding of exercise, no muscle in sight and whenever I see someone on the street running they run like a moron
I guess walking/biking everywhere and eating healthy at home balances it out but I find it easy to eat like a fricking pig in Japan, I'm surrounded by junk food at all times and it's insanely cheap too. The idea of them all living on tiny meals of fish and miso soup seems absurd to me when I see them eating so much sweet food.
because they're eating carbs/grains instead of the seed oils which expose us to insulin resistance, which makes carbs/grains damaging after you have it
Anyone do this? Supposedly, if you cook the rice with some coconut oil and then cool it for 12 hours, it converts some of the starch to the "resistant" type that can't be digested for calories. Some Sri Lankan scientists reduced the calories of one variety by 10% and said it could theoretically lower it by 50% with the right variety.
i haven't heard that but 10% isn't too much. there are some foods like almonds where something like 10% of the calories present in the nuts dont' get absorbed, and it doesn't really make a huge difference in obesity
Very clean and unprocessed diet. Simple ingredients. Small portion sizes. It ain't rocket science.
Look at modern China. They get enough wealth to not have mass starvation, and they bloat up like crazy. I think china is one generation from America level obesity. Some genetics keeps their looks at bay, but the visceral fat and heart disease is skyrocketing. Why? Have you seen their food? Literally swimming in oil. Stir frys look like soup. It's nuts. Plus tons of Coke and other sodas. Basically, added sugars and processed oils (TONS of corn, peanut, and vegetable mostly). Meanwhile japan without the use of those things is still damn skinny.
Yeah this is what people forget, not all asians are thinner than western people its just South Korea and Japan really. SE asia is full of fat fricks as is china and mongolia.
And they're both skinny for the reason you said: the most commonly eaten food in South Korea is fricking kimchi of all things. A nearly 0 calorie fermented vegetable. No other country is like that.
It’s very hard to get fat off unprocessed carbs/grains alone
But most western people eat carbs bathed in seed oil and/or giga processed
And somehow carbs are the devil now
As someone who went to US for an exchange student program, I remember they putting a lot of fruits into their rice. I was flabbergasted, it tastes horrible.
>carbs are the devil now
It's always like that. They always went to the extreme for everything.
>US for an exchange student program, I remember they putting a lot of fruits into their rice.

But your army has been recruiting basedboys almost exclusively for the past year because inmigrant and rednecks are too fat to apply.
>launching a cruise missile requires peak fitness
They don't have a great education system where you're from, do they?
Delusional, a fat army will just make a fool out of a country in any armed conflict.
>they don’t eat a lot of sugar
Yeah this is bullshit. Go watch Thai, Japanese and Korean cooking videos on YouTube. I was actually shocked at the amount of rice and sugar. Can’t figure out how they’re not all diabetic and fat.
because they have 0 muscle and just eat overall not that many calories
This is the real answer.
Westerners are even sitting when shitting.
forgot
constipated from all the grains
Because they’re a very weak people with tiny bone structures. It’s easy to look slim when you’re skeletal structure is half the width of any other race
It's the activity levels and portion controls.
Americans literally don't walk and have zero portion control
A bowl of rice with kimchi is different than a spoonful of HFCS enriched goyslop
They walk everywhere
This too. Frick this country and its love of cars.
Because their culture stigmatizes obesity.
>More than 10 million Japanese people were “strongly suspected to have diabetes” as of 2016, according to a survey on national health and nutrition conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare.
doesnt seem to be working too well
It's less than 10% of people in the country where the middle age of a person is like 60
still shouldnt be that high given the rarity of obesity
Asians can barely tolerate high gi foods. It's incredibly easy for them to get diabetes
white rice is high GI
You are right. It can't be fat because they are related to the northern siberian hunters. Then indeed they too much shit
>muh life expectancy
You know the Japs cheat on that right?
>cheat
lol how? This isn't like annual exam
You can have diabetes without being fat
no you cant
He is right. Diabetes is your body's inability to process carbs because the insulin signalling is fricked up. It has nothing to do with fats
I was literally about to write this exact same thing. Thanks anon.
Yes you can moron. You get diabetes when your body runs out of space. If your body has nowhere to put the extra energy you will get diabetes.
If your body has nothing to do with the glucose it will just sit in your blood and make you diabetic.
>what is westernization
It's also genetics. Asians genetically don't store a lot of fat. When your body doesn't store fat easily you lose your appetite and stop eating. As a fella with Northern European genetics I can put down food like there is no tomorrow and store a shit ton of fat. Skinny people don't have that tendency and feel sick if they try to eat that much.
>Northern European genetics
We swamp mongoloids developed to store fat and tolerate lactose. Others just starved to death. It's grim up north.
>genetically don't store a lot of fat
Americans still think being obese is genetic.
You can also be morbidly obese and have no diabetes or any issues with insulin resistance. As a matter of fact, the 600+ lb lards who get that big tend not to have diabetes. The efficiency with which they store energy is what allows them to keep gaining weight.
like sumo wrestlers?
I don't know WTF sumo wrestlers are. I do know that they got whooped when Eddie Hall wrestled them without any experience. I think it's kind of a meme sport like Aikido.
did he wrestle a real sumo wrestler or some western gay?
Sumo depending on the rules is either dependant on size or technique. They got 180lbers going up 300lb in the fricking east and even wrestling ain't that stupid to do no weight classes
Also insulin roiding gives you the 'beetus, because like with all other hormones, your own production shuts down.
it's pretty much impossible to get fat eating rice. 1/3ciup becomes 1 cup cooked - you can't really eat much more than that without being physically in pain
sumo wrestlers eat a lot of rice. but they wash it down with beer and that soup
Vietnamese food is bussin for low calorie high volume meals
>we publicly fat shame all the time
You should keep this going. Obesity in a former non-obese country is a sign that american goyslop corporations are setting base in your town and one way to counter their impact is shame people stupid enough to eat there.
>be japan
>have an obesity rate of like 3% while AmeriKwa has like 35%
>still have the same rate for teh beetus
>I_wonder_why.jpg
Have fun eating 1900 calories of that rice and 200 calories of gutter trout per day, and still getting skinny fat beetus and beriberi on top of that.
ok paleo friend
>Hunger provoking image
>Irrelevant time wasting question
Because they don't eat 4000 kcal of rice everyday, burger
I live in the philippines. Everyone here is fat.
It may be bacause your are the mexicans of asia.
portion sizes
and especially snack sizes and frequency
i.e cico
White here who moved to asia for 2 years of college and got fit there, now back in the states continuing my fit journey.
Basically what happens is that white rice fills you up like crazy. Combine that with a humid/muggy environment, and lots of walking everywhere and smaller portions of food, and the weight will just melt off your body.
I've continued eating tons of rice since I've been back in the states, and it's fine. You just need to do a lot of cardio.
White rice is a secret to weight loss and energy.
>says white rice is the secret to weight loss
>then says you need to do a lot of cardio to burn off the white rice
Kek looks like the bug people buried into his brain and put holes in it.
My point is that white rice is filling, so you still eat less calories. Combine that with tons of cardio, and it's easy to see why asians are thin. Nice try at being intentionally obtuse, though
I don't go on pol kek. Keep seething at my truth speak. Also your filling argument is wrong. Protein is more filling. Go troll somewhere else with your fake science Xiang Ivan Shmooly Goldstein.
Stay fat and mad, chud
Rice has protein on it what the frick are you on about.
>it's starch that satisfies the hunger drive
no lie detected
>carbs & grains are so fattening
Black person what?
Black person I eat cake every day and I'm 150lbs. Eating at maintenance or deficit is super easy no matter what you eat so idk what fatgays' problem is.
They have only fraction of the obesity, but half as much diabetes.
They're metabolically just as unhealthy as your average American.
Pure starches are metabolized into saturated fat, which tends to metabolize into brown fat.
because they are not but americans are too scared of actually working out and giving up sugar
why are vegans sickly and skinny if carbs are fattening?
Pretty sure they are generally healthier and live longer.
Highly doubtful if they're really vegan. Many vegans, understandably, eat fish and eggs on the side to be on the safe side.
Diet in a vacuum is a meaningless topic.
You can eat tons of carbs and not get fat if you have muscles that use them.
Instead of white rice or whatever simple carb pre/post workout, why not just mix a half cup or cup of white sugar in water and drink? What's the difference? Serious question btw
rice doesn't contain simple carbs
all carbs are converted to glucose
fructose can turn to fat. glucose as well under some conditions
>I have a qt young (legal) Japanese gf and been to Japan s
post proof
>legal
>young
Delusion。
You bring up bread when japanese bread is filled with sugar, soft to the point you don't need teeth and finding real bread almost impossible?
Guess it's tough to get fat when you're eating bats, bugs, and puppy dog tails and creating plagues
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills reading this thread because I've spent a fair bit of time in Japan and what I see is more like
>packed convenience stores everywhere full of junk food, entire aisles of confectionary and baked goods
>vending machines everywhere full of sugary drinks
>bakeries everywhere, everyone loads up their trays with multiple pastries
>cafes are super popular specifically for desserts like fancy parfaits, pancakes etc
>massive portions at most restaurants, especially for ramen
>they don't seem to have any understanding of exercise, no muscle in sight and whenever I see someone on the street running they run like a moron
Those bowls are small as frick. Essentially they eat three or four spoonfuls of rice in a meal. That's their secret.
You can eat nothing but sugar but you won't get fat if you don't eat a lot of sugar
because they're eating carbs/grains instead of the seed oils which expose us to insulin resistance, which makes carbs/grains damaging after you have it
Anyone do this? Supposedly, if you cook the rice with some coconut oil and then cool it for 12 hours, it converts some of the starch to the "resistant" type that can't be digested for calories. Some Sri Lankan scientists reduced the calories of one variety by 10% and said it could theoretically lower it by 50% with the right variety.
i haven't heard that but 10% isn't too much. there are some foods like almonds where something like 10% of the calories present in the nuts dont' get absorbed, and it doesn't really make a huge difference in obesity
Chinks are far more dependent on public transport, meaning they do more walking in a week than the average mart sharter does in a year.
