ED side effects are rare. The highest estimates I've seen are ~5%, many lower. Gyno is 1% absolute top estimate I've been able to find, with many lower. I didn't get any at all (been on it 2 years) but it's possible you could low-roll and get either or both.
Epristereid MIGHT have a lower chance for side effects since it doesn't increase testosterone, but I don't see why any US/EU doctor would bother with that. Although the testosterone theory could also be bunk.
I'm older than most of you and got on finsteride when propecia first came out. Thought I didn't have any sides, and I didn't for quite a while. 10 years go by and I'm having low sex drive and weak erections. Doctors put me on cialis which helps somewhat but they also do some bloodwork and everything looks normal. Think it's just age at this point but then they're like "well you're taking finasteride" which I didn't even report on my prescriptions because I stopped even thinking about it. I'm like yeah, it doesn't give me sides though. And they're like but you have ED. So they advised me to stop taking it for a few months and see what happens. After a few weeks off I start having diamond hard erections again and morning erections (which I didn't even realize stopped happening) and the difference is like night and day.
So yeah. There seems to be a frog in hot water effect where it's a slow build. I'm not saying don't take it, just be aware you're fricking with your hormones, and it will probably catch up with you eventually. Luckily I didn't get PFS and I'm at the age now where I don't really care about my hair anymore. A hair transplant HAS to be combined with something else though. Transplants are for guys who are too far gone to restore hair they already lost. They go on the drugs, which prevents further loss, and then the transplant restores what's missing and won't grow back by itself. Otherwise you get the transplant but keep losing more, necessitating another transplant, which won't necessarily be viable if there aren't enough donor follicles. Some guys aren't even viable candidates for a transplant to begin with because their hair is too thin and it would look too obvious in the back that hair was removed
