They don't have annual fitness tests, so do it once when you're hired and then you can spend the rest of your career with most of your day sitting in a car eating fast food.
Statistically they become alcoholics and develop ptsd, thats why they get to fat kek
I thought it was Ike the military though, where after you pass the initial 10:30 1.5, you still have an annual 12:00 1.5, or something like that. I know as you get older they take a couple minutes off too, but still, you won't see a fat guy even doing a 15:00 1.5.
You forget that deputy sheriff’s and suburban cops also need a bachelors degree or prior military service limited to one term. 91% of Rural/Suburban cops are White and 7% are female unchanged from 1986 while metro core, inner city, police are 60% non White/female and skew 10-12 years older.
Dont quote me on this but Im pretty sure there is a good amount of leeway on their physical requirements if you do well on their written tests and shit. They really will take damn near anyone onto the police force as long as they're not an active drug user or felon
Ya, you're probably right. I know with the physical training, you need to get an average of 75 points. So, technically if you get 100 points on push-ups and 50 points on running, you'll still pass.
Is there an age limit to become a cop? I'm 39 and bored, basically a directionless adult and being a cop seems kinda fun plus a powerful union and nice pension. Only bad part is you can't just shoot nogs as much anymore.
Idk. I'm 29 and can already run a 10:30 1.5, can do 12 strict pull-ups, can do 47 push-ups without stopping, can do 50 sit-ups on a decline without stopping and I grew up hunting and shooting guns. I also don't have a douchebag or macho-nan personality, so I'd probably make a decent cop.
A lot of my family used to be cops, but they all quit because they said it was way too corrupt and too much politics. Plus, I'd rather not get shot over some dumb shit, like a routine traffic stop.
They don't hire good ol boys like you anymore. You can try. There are guys like you ready to move to any police district in the nation and still can't find work lol. Look up these communities.
Because its not the case. Did you literally just make that up or did you make the assumption thats the case for every officer in the nation because one agency has that standard?

lmfao no

Why aren't they fired for being too mentally incapable to do their job?
Pretty sure things like IQ tests for cops have an upper limit, not a lower limit.
>need a bachelors degree to promote to Sgt / Detective
>need a masters degree to promote to command staff
you watch too much CNN my guy

I wouldn't be a cop in a large liberal city like Portland, Chiraq, or San Fransisco, Other than that it seems like fulfilling work.
I'm in a small to mid size city in the South, seems pretty laid back here main downside is shit pay.
You probably don't need a college degree at least right?
Dunno I do have a college degree tho and years of gradschool but I dipped out and have nothing to show for it.

Don't pull over people over stupid shit and you won't.

I looked up Law Enforcement PEB and it said minimum was a 11:08 mile.
I mean 11:03 1.5.
https://www.fletc.gov/male-peb
Thats for Feds (FBI, ect), not all cops.
Oh... so would I probably pass
Do you have to have a mustache to be respected as a cop?
