you can't lift as much weight as you can on the press, so how is it good for strength, moron?

          Anonymous

When one's muscles contract to move the weight upward, it effects a stimulus on the body which ultimately will improve one's strength.
What is difficult to understand about that?

Unathletic is when people typically struggle with one of the core lifts and they find some obscure version of it that they can finally experience some improvement on, but then take it too seriously and act like they found the secret to pressing and strength

I can do plenty of movements well and have great mobility, but I'm not going to pretend that a behind the head press is some amazing feat of strength. You got good at a lift that means nothing

No, since what you're saying is basically
                >Hey you lift, you should be able to do this totally obscure and different movement that you have never done before for a fairly substantial amount of weight!
It's like expecting a baseball player to be good at cricket right off the bat. Truly moronic.

It does not matter. You're introducing a new movement to the body you moron. While you will have a better grasp than most due to experience lifting, you're still going to go through a learning period of proper form and feeling out the new movement so you don't frick yourself up.
Baseball and cricket both involve hitting a frickin ball but the weight and air resistance of the bat is different and the ball is a different weight and size. There is always a God damn learning curve when you transition to a new lift, even a fricking moronic one like this press

                Anonymous

If you weren't a dyel, the learning curve would simply be starting with the bar to feel the movement pattern, and then building up to a pl8. It isn't a complicated or technical lift.

              you do not understand physics.
I could go bench 225 close grip with a straight bar patj and itd be the same exact stress as benching 315 with a super wide grip and a cheated bar path. Lifting 315 is not "better for strength" because its 315, its the same fricking stimulus you brainlet.

                Anonymous

if you got to a 315 bench by benching only, you would be able to close-grip bench 225
if you got to a 225 close-grip bench by close-grip benching only, you would have a hard time trying to bench 315

You can't use your legs to push the bar nor can you lean back. It also hits the back muscles more depending on your anthroprometry and mobility.

No you won’t. If you’re an oly lifter you’re far more likely to frick your shoulders up doing doing the jerk.

You will never be a weightlifter. You have no technique, you have no strength, you have no speed. You are a DYEL twisted by ATG videos and dollar store chalk inhalation into a crude mockery of Lü’s squat jerk perfection.

All the “validation” you get from the jury at your local meet is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back gym goers mock you. Your online coach is disgusted and ashamed of you, the judges laugh at your small legs and wonky snatches after you've left the platform.

Weightlifters are utterly repulsed by you. Decades of technique drilling and heavy squats have allowed weigtlifters to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even crossfitters who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a weightlifter. Your horrible clean contact is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get into a state meet after years of training, the judges will promptly red light all your disgusting attempts at a jerk when they see your slow dip, forward lean and soft lockout.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel your meniscus grinding down like pepper, ready to explode your knees under the unbearable (80kg) weight of your snatch PR.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll sell your Antas, bin your sleeves, put your Eleiko belt around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to buy you a ticket for Weightlifting House's streams and prohibitively expensive online coaching sessions. They’ll bury without the participation medals you won at your local meets, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a DYEL is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably low density.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

Only at the main competition lifts LOL. Their strength on squats and pulls is just as good as all the most roided chinks and slavs. Our girl Olivia is stronger than ANY of the most roided gypsies or asiatics in her weight class.
