I'm 49, I've been kettlebelling a bit seriously since september. Was doing jumprope and battlerope since spring. it has started training me for cardio and being able to do 100+ kb swings in a row.
432 swings a day but I still cry everyday like a b***h. Don't date borderline girls.

Also Mark Wildman's teachings are my jam. In every forum and here too I read his name, and it's no surprise as the man is really strong and really intelligent. Ordered an 8kg clubbell last week, probably gonna be much too heavy for single arm movements but I'll start with 2h.
My goal is to someday run 5km+ in full plate armor. Will need to get rich and really tough first ofc. INTP here, anon since 2005 or so. Our civilization is circling the drain, the sillier individual goals the better. Really happy that the new generation anons are not the ultra-despondent genXers or genYers of olde, pic related. Only started to do some fitness stuff last year, went running from spring to autumn and did jumprope. Already had a kettlebell but rarely used it. Only really started to do some serious kb in september.
But I've always been a straight-back floor sitting INTP, never had a desk, never sit on a chair at home, so it probably did some constant core conditioning, but I was a bit flabby. Vajrasana pose is really good as well, for both mental and leg purposes.
I'm really surprised at my gains with a simple 16kg kb, albeit mediocre gains for the lifting types ofc. I'm 176cm tall, and weigh around 68kg I'd say.
If you already have some good training you can probably go for 24kg from the start. From what I've been experiencing as a fitness newbie and every comment and post I've read about kettlebells, I'd say they're really fricking great for your home routine, take little space both for storage and exercise itself.
Are you doing swings with one hand?
I'm just getting bored after 60-70 swing reps.
The only things that are hard for me with 16kg kb are pistol squats and strict shoulder presses.
My morning routine atm
Warm-up: 54 indian toe squats with arms swinging, 27 indian push ups, then 16kg kb figure 8s and halos
1x144 two-handed 16kg swings
Descending ladder of snatch clean press starting at 5 each side, 16kg
Then 108 beads of Angele Dei
1x144 two-handed 20kg swings
Couple turkish get ups
Then later in the day, 1x144 one-handed swings, switching at 27 each side. At 108 I do 18 each side.
Also some snatches and tgu s
I do intermittent dry fasting, eat late afternoon/evening.
this will help a lot with your fat loss if you only eat during a short time window, eg 4hrs out of 20.
Ofc if you have a day job this can be difficult. And to answer
, shunning being a wagie helps a lot, as long as you don't develop morbid tendencies.
Good advice. Might be useful too when I go to a big city, here in Europe stabbing passerbys seems to become a hobby.

Plate mail isn’t really heavy anon, it’s only like 50 lbs. you can easily load a back pack or wear a level 4 vest and kevlar to get that.
But if it must be plate mail I understand. I just think you couple probably already do it.

10,000 swings by Dan John is a great conditioning program, but the best fat loss is 10,000 fork put downs.
