You are trying harder than you are trying?

Get yourself emotionally sorted first and foremost. If you don't do that you won't achieve any goal, not just not being able to get lean.
Once thats taken care of include lots of lower calorie foods you actually like. I can eat melon, peppers, squash, lean red meat, fish, etc all day. I'll also make a hash with corn, potatoes, peppers, and ham that I really like and is low calorie. Maybe some curry or chili is what you like. Keep whatever works in the rotation

I think unironically stress and sleep are keeping me fat

          I sleep terribly
          I should stop coffee

I work full time and study part time and I'm constantly bleary eyed and feel like shot

Don't you have anything better to do than accuse randos of being "ketolards" in the mongolian basket weaving forum schizo?

fitness is good for you and I will have a good time to get fit all the time. of course you can always do it and I love it and it feels good and healthy but you can even do that right before you get to the gym.

I'm fat too. But I have a dilemma.
I'm getting stronger and hitting new PR's every week but the downside is that I have to eat to get stronger. If I eat to gain strength, I gain fat too.
If I miss meals, my lifts go down dramatically.
And the worst part is, I'm natty. I can't just be strong and starving myself either.
I have to choose. Stay fat and cultivate power or give in to servicing the part of me that makes women lust for me in nice clothing.
I don't know what to do.

Look into measures of strength that aren't just the big three. I was in a similar situation as you about eighteen months ago. Strongest I've ever been in my life (1.5/2.5/4/5), but heavy and stiff as hell. I finally decided that I hated it, picked up weighted calisthenics and kickboxing, haven't looked back. Better sex life, better self-esteem, and honestly I'm having more fun.
