But the amazing thing about the rippetoe low-bar squat is that your femir length and tibia length don't matter, because it requires almost no dorsiflexion. In fact, showing too much dorsiflexion and not bending over enough is a complete mistake. So the guy is ultimately dumb because he is trying to say some people due to their anthropometry cannot squat. It's simply not true for a lowbar knees back squat. Almost no dorsiflexion required.

          You might have long tibia which compensates a bit for the femur/torso ratio. There are plenty of long femur athletes who are able to squat because of longer tibia.

            You should just read the squat chapter in starting strength and learn to squat. The more bent over you have to be -- the stronger it makes you. It's a benefit for strength training. If your femurs were small and your torso was very long, so your anthropometry dictated you had a very upright squat, well then the squat will not be a great tool to train your hamstrings. But for me, for example it is. I've even torn my hamstring squatting.

        How should I assist my mexibro with his legs? We've been trying to find anything that he can actually do, he has the worst mobility I've ever seen, he can get to parallel only if he's spread out like a box squat and even then with huge forward lean.       split squats with dumbbells are so much better. They activate way more muscles and train you contralaterally, which means they have much more carryover to daily life than bilateral squats.

      sprints / uphill sprints are also much more superior for quad growth since you're training them more explosively. You can't really train squats explosively unless you want to snap your shit.

    split squats with dumbbells are so much better. They activate way more muscles and train you contralaterally, which means they have much more carryover to daily life than bilateral squats.

    sprints / uphill sprints are also much more superior for quad growth since you're training them more explosively. You can't really train squats explosively unless you want to snap your shit.
