I’ve been using picrel for 10 years and my dandruff is still terrible. I’ve seen memes and posts recently about this stuff making dandruff worse. Anybody have any corroborating evidence for that or alternative shampoos so I can ditch this shit and try something that works.
ketoconazole shampoo. use as directed for a few weeks until it disappears and then 1-2 times a week. make sure you leave it in for 5 minutes and then use conditioner after
Don't use that shit, my scalp used to get itchy and dry as frick triggering dandruff. Since I switched to sulfate free shampoo alternatives the dandruff suddenly stopped.
Are you sure its dandruff and not dried soap? H&s is a b***h to wash out. Try using it less often and see what happens, once every three days, then wash out with lukewarm water thoroughly. Wash with just water on the other days.
those suck, I have a very bad skin and use more expensive shampoo+conditoner specifically for very dry skin and it eliminated all dandruff
and no 2 in 1 bullshit
I stop using shampoo and now I don't have dandruff anymore.
Have to be insane to use this shit, you have any idea how potent the chemicals are there? This is the worst thing you can use. Look for something milder. Look for poos without sulfites. I don't understand how that company hasn't been taken down by lawsuits yet...
Forgot to add to this. Problem might be water hardness, also your nutrition, stress, hormones. How good is your hygiene?
I unironically tried some baby shampoo, and shit left my scalp and hair in better state than whatever the frick h&s puts in that bottle
I've been on a strict nopoo for over a decade, but what really killed my dandruff for good was brushing my hair 2-3x a day.
>have dandruff
>use dandruff shampoo
>dandruff gone but scalp dry as frick
>start itching
>skin gets flaky
>think its dandruff
>use dandruff shampoo more often
I bet if you stop using head and shoulders every single fricking day your "dandruff" is gone by next week
HS is a fricking scam. Buy actual anti dandruff shampoo at the pharmacy. 4 days and its gone
How often are you washing your hair? Too often can dry it out
I wash mine once a week with a rehydrating conditioner, and do a leave in conditioner
Stop using shampoo. Just use water and scrub your head with your hands. It'll be greasy as frick for a few days as your hair goes into overdrive to get the natural oils back, but after that it balances out and turns into light, fluffy, healthy hair.
I used to have dandruff too, then I stopped using shampoo a year ago and it's been way better ever since.
if you have actually bad dandruff prone skin then not using soup/shampoo can give you real problems like scaly scalp which is extremely disgusting
i’m bald and still use that shit on my scalp every day otherwise that’d happen to me
pic rel. works like a charm
you might have seborrhoeic dermatitis.
either case I recommend keeping your hair and scalp oily with its own natural oil. fingercomb your hair from time to time to spread your natural oils all over your hair. try showering less frequently. like once or twice a week and dry your hair and face completely with a towel immediately after every shower and don't use hair dryers. If you're too sweaty and smelly after workouts only wash your body and don't wet your head. wash your hair only once or twice a week. if that isn't something you can do, at least stop using so much shampoo. especially aggressive shampoos. try using more natural non-aggressive sulfate (et cetera) free shampoos instead. If these all fail (which likely won't unless you're doing something wrong) you might also want check out ketoconazole / nizoral shampoos and see how that works but that should be your last resort.
I am this anon and i have that shit
I had absolutely horrendous dandruff following hair replacement surgery. Getting some prescription strength (2%) Ketoconazole shampoo and leaving it on my scalp for 15-25 minutes in the shower while I listened to Hoe-girlve En streamers over my waterproof bluetooth speaker fixed my dandruff in about 2 weeks. You can get some 1% over the counter version called Nizoral, but it burned the shit out of my scalp.
Oh, yeah - don't let the 2% prescription Ketoconazole shampoo get near your eyes. It will cause severe dryness, irritation, and itching if you let it get near your eyes a few days in a row. And don't use Ketoconazole too much long-term. It can frick up your liver. I recommend blasting your scalp with the prescription grade Ketoconazole shampoo for 2-4 weeks, or until it clears up, and then going back to normal dandruff shampoo and only using Ketoconazole shampoo once or twice a week. But I'm not a dermatologist. Go see one.
Coal tar shampoo....think the brand name is seltzen blue. Stinks but works. Use one of those silicon scrubbies to massage into your scalp.
Get a bristle brush and brush your hair well.
Could be a fungus
Nizoral on scalp and any other places that are dry (eyebrows, mustach, sides of nose, even chest) put it on straight let it sit for 4-5mins -might start to burn a bit- rinse off and repeat daily for a week or two then just one a week or when you start to notice it again
cowash with a decent conditioner and dont use shampoo
my hair is long and semi curly so ymmv but i barely shed and get no dandruff
This shampoo got to be a troll. It says its against dandruff but it GIVES me dandruff like crazy.
OP I get constantly complimented on my hair and have frequented barbers/hairdressers in multiple cities I lived in and they said it's nice
Tried head & shoulders once and my hair got ... sickly, I guess. No other way to put it.
A hairdresser told me to avoid that shit.
Had dandruff and used medicated dandruff shampoo my whole life. Got a hair transplant and the doctor recommended that I use this random french (Rene Furterer) shampoo that was non-medicated. My dandruff went away in 2 weeks and has never been back.
Dandruff is a ZOG trick to get you to pay extra for shampoo. It's like Flouride in the water man that shit is fake as hell. Stop putting strange israeli chemicals in your hair and watch you problems go away instantly.
Thought I had dandruff but it was just dry scalp. If you have dry scalp, H&S only dries your scalp out more.
Try a non sulfate shampoo with a shampoo brush to lift the dead skin flakes.
>using "mens" shampoo
>2 in 1 hairslop
>"why am I getting dandruff... why is my hair so shit?!"
Look here Black person, go buy shampoo and conditioner made for actual human beings.
Get olaplex or pureology brand shampoo and conditioner and your hair will be the softest, fluffiest and best textured shit you'll ever touch.
