I'm trying to lose bellyfat and I only have access to an exercise bike. Aside from eating better, is there a "best way" to use the bike for weight loss?
Got a fricked up leg too, no weight bearing, so the bike is the only tool I can use.

There’s no proven best methods but I’ve been told two 2 days steady state, about 150-160 bpm and then 1 day HIIT. Go every day for 40 minutes. Take a rest day on Sunday.
Sounds doable, but what's steady state?
HIIT burns the most cals, but basically you just want to do a lot of cardio on that bike.
Does it all need to be in one sitting or can I space it out throughout the day? It's boring as all hell.
You gotta be comfortable with it being boring. Listening to audiobooks / podcasts helps.
That's what I do already, but it still feels like time crawls by, y'know?
I'm on a 6/18 intermittent already...
>Tabata intervals
Had to google that one, isn't that the same as HIIT or am I missing something.
Hold up. You're telling me that weight loss can cure an 18 year old crippling crush injury? Damn you have all the answers anon.
Just keep blaming other things anon and not yourself. Ignorance is bliss
i'd say low intensity for a long time, if you have time. cardio overall doesnt burn that many calories, so to make it count you need to put the time in. You can eat in five minutes so much you'll need an hour to train it of. My go-to for dieting is hard boiled eggs, filling but not calorie dense.
Man I've tried to like eggs, but it can't be done.
You mean, go fast, or eat less?
Do OMAD and eat a lot of meat.
>cardio overall doesnt burn that many calories,
Compared to what? Lifting? Lol, cardio burns way more calories than lifting if you're not a lazy frick about. If I run 12km in an hour I burn 1k cals easy.
Fast you moron
Tabata intervals until you puke twice a day.
I'm willing to hazard a guess that your leg problems would clear up if you lost weight
it's basically all CICO and protein/fat are converted at about 70% the efficiency that carbs are. The only way to lose belly fat is to eat less calories for a long period of time. I've found the best way for me to do this is to do things that put me far away from the kitchen and telling myself it's not worth it to spend money on eating out unless it's an occasion like bringing my son to an amusement park or event. Also I keep zero snacks in the house because I will crush a bag of chips in a day no matter what size it is if I have it. It's super boring but once I realized I was eating food out of boredom ( about 3-4 weeks ) it got a lot easier.
I like the way this video explains it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75d_29QWELk
Appreciate the input anon. I'm trying to keep the calories down by eating with an 18 hour fast, no sugary snacks or drinks and most meals are just chicken and rice.
I think I'm generally doing the right thing, but it's slow progress that's for sure.
remember it's about overall health and trying to speed run it means it's not going to stick. it may take you 18 months to get enough of it off but you will feel better after about 3 months. more energy, better self image, and better sleep. my biggest set backs happen when I over do it a bit and let myself spiral by thinking I've failed and giving up. After a major injury in 2018 I put on 60 lbs and felt like there was no hope but I'm back down again after making diet adjustments and walking more.
