inguinal hernia

So I found out I have inguinal hernia. No pain, but it's over for me unless I get a surgery?
Anyone else had this problem? What can you even do with it? Apparently anything that puts strain on lower-abdomen is out of the question.

how does that happen? and why do you have a huge scar in the middle

      >how does that happen
Intestines penetrate a weakened abdominal wall. Can be due to a bunch of shit, usually straining (e.g. lifting, coughing) + a risk factor, such as injury or pregnancy, or having a giant fricking hole your testis are connected through.

It's inevitable if you lift heavy. Nothing you can do to prevent it really.

I mean, this is only true to a point, some people are naturally predisposed to hernias, but it’s bullshit that you can’t prevent it period.

This is what happens when you don't train abs.

        >It's inevitable if you lift heavy
Maybe if you're one of those dipshits that believes that "compounds are enough for abs bro". Even though compounds do not train abs at all

Get surgery, don't frick it up more. The more frick it up now (and the longer you leave it), the weaker it's going to be post-surgery.

Some guy on IST once said it's a fricking b***h but you'll be fine after the surgery with no real issues concerning re-herniating
I can't remember what mesh they recommended.

Sorry I didn't help at all.
    Good luck with your surgery.

Time for surgery. Make sure it’s laparoscopic - it most likely will be. Went thru this a few months ago. Easy as frick. Didn’t even need pain meds - Tylenol and ibu did the trick. First two weeks were annoying, but I was back to basically normal after that. Started working out again after 8 weeks. I still feel the scar tissue sometimes and allegedly I may continue to do so over the next year. But it’s perfectly manageable, is easy to work around, and what’s the alternative? My guts spilling out and eventually resulting in emergency surgery?

Gotta do what you gotta do. Get it repaired, but don’t worry about it.

same, had mine done 18 months ago though, both sides - laparoscopic mesh repair. I was back to deadlifting within 9 or 10 weeks. over a year or so later sometimes I feel the repair, it's a strange sensation but doesn't hurt - only if I'm going heavy on abdominal workouts. I'm glad I had it done cause I was tired of stuffing my guts back into the hole every time I had to cough/sneeze.

Had surgery on my left side in 2017 and they used my own tissue to repair it. It tore back through in 2021 and had to have the surgery again but this time using mesh. Feels fine. However im worried I might have or will eventually have one on my right side but im still paying off the 2021 surgery so not gonna think about it for now.

Have never lifted heavy since the 2017 surgery but do tons of pushups, burpees, pullups, plate circuits, cardio, core, etc without issue. Feels weird if I deadlift, squat heavy, or lift heavy furniture but ill admit i havent given it enough of a chance.

unironically HGH abuse. it will thicken your abdominal wall. too bad you didnt know about that prior, or that you would be prone to hernia. because i doubt trying to change your epigenetics now with peptides or even post surgery would work.

I had this and got surgery. They put a mesh gauze over it, like the kind of thing you get in a Bunsen burner. I've never had a problem since and can do nearly 2/3/4/5. Hurt like a bastard when I had it done but the pain went away after a few days

When they were looking at my intestines for diverticulitis they said I had a small inguinal hernia in the beginning stages. Is there anything I should do differently with lifting or preventing it getting worse?
