Yea, 100% worth it if your teeth are ugly. People will absolutely judge you on that shit. Jobs, dating, anything. Better to get it fixed.

My wife did, she had a tooth like the middle picture coming out of the roof of her mouth that was moved with braces first and then switched to Invisalign. It worked great it’s just slow to get results so just be ready for the long haul

My orthodontist said the plastics can't move teeth as good as real braces, so I went with braces.

Still look like a nerd... don't get them. Get invisalign. No one will ever notice your wearing them.. Also forgot to add don't get Invisalign.. Ask for the brand "Spark" or find someone who offers them. Much much better

Gap teeth is easily fixed with invisalign. I'm on it now and it's a joke... don't even notice them at all and whenever I get hungry I just take them out and eat whatever the frick I want

invisalign took 6 months to fix my fricked up teeth with virtually 0 pain. braces take 1 to 2 years and they tighten the frick out of them, you have rubber bands, and you cant take them off. gl

got it in my mid 20s and can finally smile without being self conscious but it did damage my teeth. In the long run I take way better care of them though because they don't look like shit.

also it took me 1.5 years and then 6 more months of revisions because I didnt wear my retainers and my bottom teeth moved back. DONT let them talk you into a permanent retainer they get dirty as frick and you can eat 90% of foods just get a night time one.

    >Was it worth it?
It depends on the issue you have and how much money you make. If your teeth are comfortable but ugly as frick: do it. The halo effect is real. IST is basically dedicated to it. Be realistic.

I had an actual medical issue with my teeth. I couldn't close my jaw properly following some treatment for TMJ disorder. I honestly don't know if I would go with Invisalign again if I go back in time. It took $6k (chump change for a health issue really) and >2 years to get my teeth sorted out, and now they're just "better", not perfect. It's kind of a bummer. A normie non-ortho can't really weigh their options appropriately. I definitely should have consulted multiple offices.

If your teeth and jaw feel fine but you wanna be prettier, just get Invisalign.

Quick note about mewing: It won't completely fix your facial aesthetics, but both my TMJ doc and my ortho essentially told me to mew. They didn't say it outright, but they both told me about proper "tongue posture" and shit, which is what mewing really is. So you really should do that too.

I find it a bit cope what people say here. You don't need a beautiful smile to have success.

I just got veneers a long time ago, because my teeth were omega-fricked. Best consumerism I’ve ever engaged in. Had the cosmetic dentist design them to be a bit off-white and not perfectly straight. No one has ever noticed them, including long term girlfriends. Luckily, I’m a millionaire, so I can afford to replace them if/when needed. They probably make them even better now.

Nothing cyberpunk about porcelain, unless glowBlack folk put a chip in. It’s much more expensive than it should be though at a reputable cosmetic dentist. I hear euro ones are cheaper for the same quality.

If American, straight teeth are almost a necessity
Invisalign only works for mild cases afaik, consult a dentist or orthodontist regarding whether it'll work for you
If they say you need braces, just bear with it and act like a dainty little lady for half a year. Cover your mouth when you laugh, only smile with your lips closed, don't take massive bites of food. If you're (un)lucky and have soft gums, your teeth will move way quicker and you might be able to convince the orthodontist to speed things up. Downside is that if you skip your retainer for even a day it feels like your teeth move a mile (I have this problem)
Or, you could just own it and be b***hless until they're off. If somebody gives you shit then they're obviously a moron that puts their self worth on being "better" than others. You're working to better your future, not avoid criticism in the present. You know, if you have braces, yada yada

i wore braces for 2 years, and i have been wearing my retainer ever since, for a year and a half. my original upper retainer broke like a year ago and i got a new one, much better quality.
a few days ago i really started to notice that my teeth are kind of shifted in the morning, when i close my mouth, the contact area wasn't spread evenly, it was mostly on my left side.
my bottom retainer cracked a few months ago, and finally broke a few days ago
the last few days, i haven't been wearing them at all, and i feel like my teeth align better
did i wear them for long enough? should i just wear the upper one? should i get new retainers made?
my orthodontist said that i should wear them as long as i wore braces, which is 6 months longer at this point
also my wisdom teeth are almost fully grown in, are they going to interfere if i stop wearing it?
    thanks

I'm 27yo and just got normal braces with expanders from inside. My front teeth are perfect just after 6 month. I haven't looked like the girl, but I look like some inbred white trash. Well worth it.

I have done invisalign and I am happy with the results. I had braces as a kid and did not wear my retainer which made my teeth shift. I had minor gaps that were fixed within 6 months of use.

If you have really extreme case, like OP's pic, I would opt for braces. Orthos love to use invisalign because the profit margins are so much higher. All they have to do is scan your teeth, send in the info, and give you the trays. I was charged $8,000 for 6 months of treatment and I only saw my ortho twice in that time. With braces, they have to be more hands on but braces give much more control over the end result. Invisalign also doesn't close gaps in your teeth, they just shift them back toward your molars so they aren't noticeable. Braces close caps all the way back to the molars.

Overall, I was happy with my invisalign but you just need to asses your own situation. Also, stay away from the shitty mail-in kits like smile direct. They will frick up your teeth. Always use a local reputable ortho.

Invisalign is good for a touch up. If you have real problems, you need to go straight for the hardware.

Will say, I was so goddam tired of having to be a tooth-brushing nazi all the time by the end of invisalign.
