this, the studies he get so hard about are the equivalent of a pity handjob. he is a charlatan, made for people who watch video essays but retain no knowledge.

Huberman extrapolates a lot from low sample size studies. Some of the things he recommends barely have an effect, some have side effects that he doesn't mention, like ashwaghanda and fadogia.

Other than taking ice baths the only thing I've heard this guy say is you should wake up and go for a walk.

Have you ever heard of the ketogenic diet?

From what I read online, it's a good way to lose weight short term, but long term high saturated fat diets increase cholesterol and heart disease.
Heart disease and high cholesterol runs in my family, so I probably will stick to counting calories to lose weight.

        >but long term high saturated fat diets increase cholesterol and heart disease.
That's a meme made by the vegetable oil industry, look up the French Paradox.

Diabetes, smoking, alcohol, and seed oils cause heart disease. Saturated fat does increase cholesterol, but neither saturated fat nor cholesterol cause heart disease. And there is no way for cholesterol to negatively affect the heart if it's being used for energy (like on keto) and if bloodsugar levels are alway low-normal (like on keto).

His series with Andy Galpin is definitely worth a listen. There are no step-by-step descriptions of what you should do, but it'll teach you basically everything you need to know to be well rounded physically.

The most important piece of health advice that these podcasters (Huberman, Rogan, Jocko et al) never mention is to be financially independent so you can free up 8+ extra hours per day to exercise.

Huberman has his podcast + youtube videos that pull 1M+ views per video. Jocko has Jocko Fuel. Rogan has his Spotify money. These people are so insanely rich that they can afford to spend their time however they want i.e exercising across 2 or 3 different disciplines.

Was listening to Jocko the other day talk about how he gets up at 4AM, lifts weights, then might go for a run, do some surfing then he's on the mats for jiu-jitsu later in the evening. good luck doing that with a full time job. If you really care about applying any of the advice these c**ts peddle, your first and only priority should be becoming financially independent so you can spend all day exercising (however you wish).

I listened to maybe 18 hours of his podcasts while walking and doing chores and came away with maybe 4 or 5 things that you can actually do that don't involve dodgy suppliment recommendations and most of them are related to sleep and wakefullness not testosterone or lifting.

I think he's gone the way of the grifter and mostly makes mountains of molehills of isolated evidence. It's still fun to learn about neurology but I wouldn't go to him as source of advice that will change your life for the better.

It's legit but everyone is different and his advice will work to varying degrees between individuals. Don't look at it as advice, look at it as insights into the functioning of your biology and then use that knowledge to figure out what to do for yourself specifically.

Your time would be infinitely better served by spending 15 minutes reading the sticky for all that information and then actually doing those things instead of simping for manlets online.
