Yeah something like this. Also depends on the sport. Some sports depend more on genetics than others. Things like ultramarathons are almost entirely based on training/willpower rather than genetics.
Former national level hurdler here. If you want to be impressive by normie standards, yes. If you want to be elite then its more like 90/10. However, as eveyone in elite is elite genetics, training can be a significant differentiators
>Are some athletic people just genetically superior?
The entire realm of biology and our entire understanding of it and evolution revolves entirely on the fact that some biological organisms are superior to others.
I mean it's not the only thing but yes. You'd also probably find that a lot of people, barring the really inferior, are misapplied. For example, I may be naturally gifted at spear throwing and have potential to be very good, but I only ever was able to do swimming competitively which I was completely mediocre at. Worse than mediocre actually. Even then that's genetics too it's just that the standard sports maybe don't have everyone's niche.
Just get a gene test. Sports fall into several categories with combinations, power sports, endurance sports, strength sports, and flexibility/acrobatic sports. You only really need to try 5 sports max to know what you're good at.
You can tell if you are "athletic" by testing your standing vertical jump. That will tell you if you're explosive. Tip, you're not. Then you can check your anthropometry to see which sports it is suited for. Anyways it's pointless if you were made for sports you'd know it by now.
genetics aren't like a good/bad thing in most cases assuming you're not some dysgenic mutt. It's closer darwin's finches they allow you to excel in some things easier than others. Even having something like elite running genetics won't help you if your sport is football and you have normal-average recovery genetics. There's always going to be a geneset that will excel at given sport but if they don't start training early enough they'd never be able to keep up with the skill curve. Where it matters most is at the elite levels because almost all those guys started training as kids, almost all of them train to the absolute limits of their recovery, and there's no rank fodder left. So you can see why peds come in here so often. Because they're already at the ceiling of what they can do if they don't cheat they just have to watch themselves degrade if they're not already 1st they'll never be.
>Is athletic performance determined by genetics?
Frick no. There are too many pro athletes that were raised to do it via environment, not genetics. Just because their parents forced them to do it from a young age.
For example: Andre Agassi, Serena and Venue Williams, Tiger Woods, Christian Pulisic etc etc, literally forced into the sport at young ages. They just got the 10,000 hours in before everyone else. It wasn't the genetics.
Obviously, the work ethic is also important. Shit is too competitive these days for anyone to get by on only genetics.
Pic rel is the greatest quarterback in NFL history when he entered the league. Not exactly the poster child for perfect genetics.

His frame alone mogs me
Genetics is a massive component in athletic performance, Co-Ordination and ability for your body to learn fast are developed in the early stages of life so having parents that encourage physical activity and do a lot of ground play with you as a baby/toddler is important. My brother is an elite level athlete and has been all his life, I played no sports from age 16 - 25 but when I started boxing, I picked things up very quickly and easily became proficient. Our parents always encouraged rough play, Lots of sports contest. Father had a long amateur rugby career.
Naturally, some parts of it, especially your feet shape, germans (weights), egyptians (gymnastics) and greeks (cardio) have the best feet shapes for sports.
I think its 40% genetics 60% individual effort imo

i checked to make sure those actually add up to 100.... they do for anyone who thought he was bullshitting

Yes, anyone else who says otherwise is coping.

Do I just have to try every sport to see what I'm genetically gifted at? What if I suck at everything?

I don't know but a serious large scale study could probably find measurements typical of the best at each sport.

nah it's steroids, that's why modern athletes are better
100%. Jeanetics is 80% of performance 70% of the time.

Yes. It's not entirely genetic, but those with good genetics, training, and diet will always excel. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try though.

More like steroids.
bump
Wtf is up with me today baka

Yes, genetics matter, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't athletimaxx.
