High cholesterol runs in my family so when I had some blood work done I wasn't surprised to find out I have high cholesterol. I regularly work out and eat lots of meat and dairy products too. Should I start eating a special diet to lower my levels or just ignore it?
my cholestorol got lower to perfect range when i started eating 6 eggs a day and 400g of red meat per day, unironically. the thing is that i lost weight at the same time. if you have abs / morning abs whatever your cholesterol will be good. its a meme, the diet has almost zero correlation from my experience.
good to know because they want me to start eating onions products. I'm going to for sure cut back on fast food though
My experience is the opposite. My LDL changes up or down by like 60% by how focused I am on very specific daily intake.
>if you have abs / morning abs whatever your cholesterol will be good.
Nope, LDL was actually highest when I was the lowest weight because exercise and calorie restriction are not the biggest factors for me. My body responds more to overall nutrient/oxidant status.
>eat eggs and red meat they totally don’t cause cancer and heart disease
These are the people giving advice on this board btw
there is no good evidence they cause either of those conditions
Depends man. What you mean by high? What you mean runs in family. Familial hypercholesterolemia is very real. If you have some bullshit cholesterol like 220 don't give shits man, but if you have ldl like 400 yeah you'll die if you don't take meds. It's like depression. It's very real and some people can only live on pills but more people take SSRIs than they should.
>ldl like 400 yeah you'll die if you don't take meds
many people with FH untreated never get heart disease. FH people used to live longer probably because it gives you a better immune system
my total is 240
Yes unless you like heart attacks.
Statins are super cheap and fix the problem; my grandfather had a heart attack at 48, been on statins since and is currently 94, hasn't had a heart attack since
So your grandfather was on statins before they were even invented lmao frick off pharma shill kys israelite
>Statins are super cheap and fix the problem
no they dont. most people who have a heart attack are already on statins in my country
actual science indicates statins don't reduce heart attacks at all and may in fact may them more likely.
they do reduce cholesterol though which was the measured endpoint that got them FDA approved. Looking at the bigger long term picture shows the premise was fatally flawed
Testosterone is made from cholesterol. Is it any wonder they hate cholesterol?
low cholesterol seems more dangerous than high cholesterol
Maybe it's because all those old gays dying of cancer and dementia etc are incidentally malnourished?
>my cholestorol got lower to perfect range when i started eating ... 400g of red meat per day
lol
cholesterol is good. testosterone structure is similar to cholesterol structure. when you see cholesterol in veins its actually repairing those areas
Cholesterol is good.
Testosterone and every preceding androgen is made from cholesterol in the testes.
Why do ketolards grift their grifterdaddy so hard? It's like you're being pimped and you're in love with your pimp. It's almost cultish but instead of a lifestyle they will you supplements.
Ketoschizo, you're a stripper and I'm your manager.
a keto diet doesnt require any supplements
Why do you believe grifter lies so hard? Ketolards literally believe "ecelebs" debt word. Modern day tabloids diets. Maybe that's why atkins was in every magazine in the 2000s.
High total cholesterol says pretty much nothing. High LDL is most likely also not an issue, unless it's very high. You gotta look at remnant cholesterol, which is the difference between total cholesterol and (LDL+HDL). A high difference between those do seem to indicate a risk. But still, the risk is low if you don't smoke, don't drink, don't consume much sugar, and have low HbA1c and low (fasting) insulin.
Cardarine made my chol pic related
Is that good or bad bro
Vegans think that's great. Research seems to disagree
.
Long term cardarine use causes liver tumors though.
In rats that were fed a ridiculous amount of mg per kg of body weight.
I know. I actually have some cardarine myself at home. But I still wouldn't advice anyone to take it *long term*. There's just way too little research on it, because it's been abandoned by the developers.
How do you like using it? What does it do 4 u
2024 I'm gonna a sarm
I haven't used it yet. I want to lose some fat first to get below 15% body fat and then use it to lose the last amount of abdominal fat.
Good on u
>Long term cardarine use causes liver tumors though.
You have literally to take the equivalent of like half a gram for years
All my other markers are safe, i regularily do ecographies and i'm ok
Statines, on the other ways, are well know catabolic, insuline-resistance makers and testosterone killers
If you can bite your toenails you're fine, because this is a test of endothelial fitness
Even fasting can increase ldl. high carb can decrease ldl, but it's not healthy
Don't eat bs seed oils, if you want to replace some animal fats, a really good extra virgin olive oil is the only reasonable option (many evoo are fake though)
Cholesterol is important to make hormones.
'Blocked artery' is caused by low calcium (when low on calcium, body takes it from bone and put i blood).
Good to have vit D + K along with calcium.
p.s. Ray Peat did not write this
>Cholesterol is important to make hormones
Your body produces, and then uses them as hormones. Cholesterol produces by yourself is very different from eating dietary cholesterol. Your stomach doesn't magically put the cholesterol you eat into your gal bladder.
