I do dumbbell spider curls with 55 pounds. I've been lifting for a year. Am I gonna make it?

  6. 9 months ago

It doesn't matter how heavy the weight is. If you curl 45 with your elbows swinging and shitty form it's just as dyel as curling 20 with your elbows swinging and shitty form. Stop worrying about how much you're lifting and worry about how you lift. If your form is perfect, 45 mogs most people in the gym.

ho shit how are you guys curling so much?? i can curl 58 kg for 10 with a bar but with dumbells i cant curl that much, the only person i have seen using more than 45 lb or 20 kg in curls was using a shit ton of momentum to get the shit up

my standing dumbbell curls are three sets, 25's, 30's, 35's. I have long arms so it kind of sucks but once they get bigger they'll look good. I just started doing them more, I was doing them like every 5 days

Is 125lbs on a preacher curl machine good or bad? I figure that's about 60ish on each arm. My ceps are not even that big.

yes, do double progession when working out smaller muscle groups.

Basically, start out on a weight where you can do perfect form for 3x8. If you're able to every set succesfully. Add one rep next session.

Continue until you hit 3x12 without fail.
Then add weight, and restart on 3x8.

    double progression very based gains

yes what? what the frick are you guys talking about how doing 45 lb dumbell curls is dyel ?
Damn man i must have missed the troll online gathering that is going on right now. Becouse or you are all trolling hard or you actually pendulum lift the weight with your backs and not your biceps. And if so, What good is it for the biceps lifting it with the back? i mean it is okay when you allready reached failure with a weight you can actually rep but if you can not rep it you are a fricking moron if you do that.

Anyway 20 kg for biceps curl is fricking awesome, SPECIALLY for 6 months.
(i lift that and i can curl with bar 58 kg for 10 reps on a good day)

It's whatever. I know people with biggest arms that curl 30lbs and on the same note I know people who curl 70-80lbs with similar form and have much smaller arms. It's not a very good indicator of anything.

If I'm just throwing in some extra volume after working back I'll curl light weight for high volume. Weight doesn't matter when my arm is pumped and veins are popping and looking sweet.

    >100lb standing barbell x10
    >85lbs preacher x10
    >35lbs dumbbell hammer x10
is this good? I added curls to my routine in april and started at 60lbs on the cable machine and have worked up from there. personally I prefer cable curls but sometimes I mix it up if its busy.

I love training arms , the max I do on db curls is with 28 kg db's , plus weighted strict chinups always gets me massive pump on arms
