I challenge anyone reading this to withhold from yourself:
food for 8 hours in a day
    sexual gratification
having your resting heart rate for more than 30 minutes at a time while awake
any exposure to material designed to entertain in some fashion

for 20 days, and report back

I had to read it closely too, he meant keeping your heart rate above its resting rate, letting it slow down to baseline for not more than 30 minutes at a time. I do that by using nicotine, these zyn packets drive my heart rate over 100 with zero physical activity.

The benefits from fasting are as follows.

    1. Your body enters ketosis which is the correct metabolism that your body should use, not burning carbs like a subhuman peasant.

    2. You don't injest goyslop and other carbs garbage that damages your body from anti nutrients, toxins, lectins, etc.

    3. It encourages your body to breakdown weakened and damaged tissue and replace it with new healthy tissue. This is good for obvious reasons.

Tldr; just eat carnivore diet and every now and then do a 3-4 day fast to activate autophagy.

No he's a moron. Ketosis is the natural state for all mammals. Literally everyone even the herbivores since herbivores get fat from breaking down fibre which we can't do. Anyone who advocates sugar and carbs as a staple human diet is mentally moronic

            >Literally everyone even the herbivores since herbivores get fat from breaking down fibre which we can't do.
Yeah, cows literally have to synthesise pretty much all the sugars they need through neoglycogenesis because their rumen turns almost every carb into various saturated short chain fatty acids
Dairy cows have some pretty extreme systems in place to generate all of the lactose they need for sometimes well over 50 liters of milk a day at peak lactation (I think the world record is over 200l in one day) which @ 6% lactose = 3kg of lactose a day

It is crazy how much you can learn about this topic by just researching all of the vasrious nutritional metabolic diseases dairy cows are prone too.

It doesn't directly all translate over to humans but the amount of high quality commercially tested data is incomparable.

              Anonymous

*Sorry that should be 4-5% so 2-2.5kg of lactose generated in a day.
But she's only consuming around 20kgDM of food a day with part of that energy also transferred to milk fat (4%) 2kg and protein (3%) 1.5kg or 6kg of solids per day on top of daily metabolic needs
The high yield dairy cow treads a knife edge.

Doing OMAD(1 meal a day) and in my ~3rd week. Already lost 10 lbs lol. Kinda hard the first week when there's rolling hunger throughout the day, so didnt lose much of the weight that week as I was still trying not to overeat. 2nd week, I laxed off some days and instead of eating once a day, I ate twice (9am and then later in the noon). If I was gonna double eat, I wanted to do so within the short period of time, so that I will atleast get 20 hrs of fasting on that day.

If you're nearing overweight, overweight or even obese, fasting will liberate you.

I don’t know the names of any fad diets or do any research outside of basic nutrition information but I’m doing something similar. I don’t eat anything all day then eat a huge meal for dinner. (Mostly meat and milk but I will eat bread too as a guilty pleasure) I’ve easily gone from 190 lbs to 175 lbs in 7 weeks with minimal muscle loss almost purely fat on my stomach. I live a very active lifestyle

OMAD + Keto diet (fat/protein mainly, with little carb (bread))

Supposedly fat cell burning happens at the 16th-20th hour of fasting. No idea how that works, but atleast I'm losing weight.

It put's the body into a ketogenic state which can be useful at some points but is not recommended for extended periods due to its effect on sugar processing.

I'm don't know what the evidence shows on approaches such as extended fasting or OMAD on the body long term.

        Its called lying.

The body cannot sustain itself forever without food. In absence of food, it just churns out the fat cells into energy. Thats what ketosis is. When that happens the fat loss happens, you lose weight, etc.

So basic science is your body needs energy to move. It also stores excess energy in forms of fat. Fats are used by the body when food is limited. With limited food, body weight loss happen. Anyone claiming calorie counting doesn't help is lying. 100% lying.

Ketosis is not the only way to burn body fat for energy. Even after eating 1000kcal of pure glucose, your body is still burning a significant portion of energy as fat in beta oxidation.

Its a natural lie too, given that food is a very intoxicating substance for our brain to incentivize survival. Similar to sex/jerking off/pissing/shitting. Your mind will naturally try to deride the loss of primal craving. Its like trying to argue that people shouldnt pleasure themselves. Only a very hardcore dedicated takes the practice. The rest cannot begin to even try it out for few days. Let alone weeks or months.

I see carnivore diet mentioned as low carb but from what I read around it it seems that for fresh meat at least there is a considerable glycogen content that means your body rarely enters ketosis

Biochemically ketosis is only really triggered when you are unable to supply oxaloacetate to TCA/krebs cycle

      Anonymous

      >what I read around it it seems that for fresh meat at least there is a considerable glycogen
No ones' supermarket meat has enough glycogen left to break ketosis. However, carnivore dieters are very often not in ketosis because their diet comprises so much protein that their bodies are using enough of it for gluconeogensis to prevent ketosis.

I think you missed my point, I meant to emphasise that a natural carnivore diet would contain some source of carbohydrate in the form of glycogen that would technically prevent ketogenesis or it would be less significant.

We can address the issue of whether peoples' attempts to replicate a carnivore diet through purchase of meat from supermarkets are going to be limited by loss of natural glycogen stores and other components.
The issue then becomes one of how do we supply a form of safe carbohdrates while maintaining the benefits of a carnivore diet.
Other than fruit, plant sources are somewhat suspect and compounded with antinutritional protective components such as tannins, or lectins.

Starting off, I don't recommend anyone do this. It's unhealthy but it got the job done. Recently lost 50 pounds in a couple months by eating one high protein meal a day, no carbs if I could get away with it. Came down to eggs most of the time with high protein lentil soups here and there. Acceptable eating period is 1-9pm. Most times I'd eat at around 2 then not eat anything until the next day. Eat at a deficit but eat greens and nuts along with your protein. If you feel like you're literally starving increase calories for a day then back to basics.
