Not really starving, but you have to eat like a sedentary person would, but you're also lifting weights and doing cardio.

      But did you keep muscle?

I just started doing OHP 1 plate for sets and I don't want to lose it

So far I think I've kept all of my muscle. I've been eating 1200-1500kcal (@TDEE 2500kcal) and never felt better honeslty. All my lifts have stayed exactly the same except for weighted pull ups which have been progressing.

Thats why comments like that are useless.
        >"Dude so easy just eat less I lost 40lbs".
Yeah but Im not obese with zero muscles. I need to lose 10lbs and Im looking for diet advice. I actually only need to lose 5lbs but I want to lose 10lbs so I can get absolutely fricking dickskin shredded and then very fricking slowly leanbulk about 5-7lbs so I can be as strong as possible with as much muscle mass to still enter my weight division and compete in Bench press National Championships.

Last year I could have gotten 3rd place but I wasnt even aware that Im strong enough to enter let alone place. I just started researching it this year when I started getting showered by how strong I am in my weight class. I was comparing myself to people in the 93kg weight class, when Im at 74kg.

    >no, look up the definition of starving, homosexuals
Ok. The minimum daily calories is 1,800 kcal, you ar starving below that. That is the definition.

Basically. You have to be in deficit to burn fat, but also eat boring high protein stuff in order to not lose too much muscles. Plus you lift and sometimes do cardio.

    So according to this thread
    >Eat more
    >You grow muscles and fat
    >Eat less
    >You lose fat and for some reason not muscles

If you reduce your fat intake, eating large amounts of potatoes, whole grains and lean protein is extremely difficult so you just naturally fall into the caloric deficit you need while also maintaining the protein and glycogen necessary for mass. Meanwhile the fat doesn't really help you at all out side of the first 10-20g.

It's only starving yourself if you're actually under 15% body fat. Past there it's a nightmare and requires usually some kind of carb and fat reduction and usually breaks to restore thyroid fuction and leptin sensitivity since everything on the hormonal side goes to shit if you cut like that for too long.

Imagine that some people actually think this lol. You dont even have visible abs at 15%. There are people who live their entire life with visible abs from like kindergarten to their 40's. Imagine actually fricking thinking that they are living in a nightmare constantly starving with destroyed thyroid function, leptin sensitivity and massacred hormonal profile lol.

10-15% bodyfat is completely natural and normal for healthy active male. You can eat like 2750-3000kcal as your maintenance to maintain that. It's not difficult at all.

Being in a deficit is not starvation. It's more like constant mild hunger.
If you starve yourself you lose a lot of muscle. It's a hard balance tbh, last cut I lost a lot of muscle cause I overdid the deficit, feels like I lost an entire year of gains but lean as frick so should be easy to get back into it.

Honestly you should count calories and macros. At least eyeball them. Doing cuts the half assed way is hardly worth it.

Yes, what makes it complicated is to find the individual sweatspot where duration, sustainability including psychological and damage done to body specifically muscle are optimized. It’s very much a engineering-like challenge because academic concepts eg cico o keto need to be successfully implemented in your actual day to day life and that all with very incomplete feedback, making you operate mostly in the dark.
